I think it was always still moving forward I was just a bit distracted from it. Though I am disappointed that Liz is out of the picture. Que sera, sera.
I've got a comment on the Slow Learning entry but didn't want to continue the thread two months later. I nearly drowned in my aunt and uncle's lake when I was 18. But I did learn not to jump out of a boat without a life jacket in the middle of a lake because you don't feel like fishing. My uncle took off in the boat with my cousins but after a couple of strokes I realized it was a bad idea. I tried getting their attention but it didn't work. Luckily it wasn't a big lake but at points I got really discouraged when I couldn't touch bottom.
My sister could always swim well but it didn't take with me until I took swim class at Carolina. It had the added benefit of exempting me from the swim test too.

Hey, no worries. I wouldn't have minded.

Your story sounds like it might be more terrifying than my English Channel story.

It had the added benefit of exempting me from the swim test too.

I heard that the final exam of the swim class counts as being the same thing as the actual swim test. Not true?

Looking forward to more updates on The Portland Plan.
