So in Bruce Springsteen's world, there is room for the old humiliation kink, apparently. It's a catchy little River-era thing with bizarrely upbeat lyrics about a guy who's completely head over heels with this girl who's emotionally abusive towards him - possibly because she's emotionally abusive, if that last stanza is in any way serious. It's really fun and cute, and probably should have been polished up and thrown onto Tracks (if not onto The River itself - it's just sadly sweet enough for that album). If you think Working On the Highway is funny in a fucked up way, you'll probably like this one.
