I'm glad to hear you went back to basic. Sometimes you work on something for so long trying to finetune it, you end up with something else than what you originally wanted.
When you want to convey a message so strongly, like the environmental thing, you have to be careful not to force the characters. I've been hobby writing again and find this very difficult. You have to let the characters be themselves, instead of forcing them to fit into the story you want to follow.
Well, I did not exactly went back to basic. If anything, the story has grown a lot more complex from where it started out. But we did need to clean the script to get it clear again... it's a bit like reformatting a hard drive perhaps. We started out with story vision AAAAA, that was straightforward but it then a new vision came along and it became ABBAB, then finally ACBAC. And now we have to be stern and make the whole thing into vision CCCCC.
Thanks! Well, now you mentioned it... I might have something that's right up your alley. :) I'm struggling with the design of the imaginary Rapa Nui bird. It's a strange and exotic bird with unusual colors which went extinct centuries ago. They need to be really cute when there young and quite loony when they're grown.
If you feel up for it I'd love to see some designs from you on this, that could really help me out. :)
[info]zolphia helped us out a tremendous deal with this over the weekend we cannot thank her enough
But that doesn't mean that you can't try! And remember, nothing says "thank you" than chocolatey goodness. ;)
Btw, I'll send you an update of the script tomorrow. I'll be in the train for six hours traveling to Leeuwarden, so that's plenty of time to work on it.
