I hope everyone's holidays were wonderful and that everybody is braced for an excellent new year. Our schedule is a bit weird because of the hiatus; what we're going to do is read Silver Blaze this week and pick up regular discussions next Monday. This is your readalong for the story about horses and the origin of the (in)famous deerstalker

On the subject of bringing in more folks, I think we can excuse a round of advertising at this juncture. In another fandom that has mostly died now, the re-watches were advertised every week. I think it's just that people on the Internet have short attention spans (if I didn't get notifications, I would have forgotten by now).

Otherwise, I have no idea. I imagine there are a sizeable number of lurkers, but I've never really been good at drawing them out, either.

... I totally have essays. It occurs to me only now that this is probably unusual.

In my defence, I am a lit/philosophy major. Was. The point is, it was to ~further my understanding~ (this is a complete lie, I am the kind of person who enjoys deconstructing logic and does it for fun).

If I'm perfectly honest, I read this story way back during the week of the last one we read because I didn't have another book at work :P I've already forgotten most of it, though I did indeed enjoy it.
