Do I have a non-PC version of this book and in reading "The Yellow Face" I am reading the same story...?

Alas, no. The Yellow Face is a different story. Some publications include "Cardboard Box" in the Last Bow collection instead of the Memoirs.

Oh good, because I was procrastinating epically and finished the story, only to be rather disappointed by the lack of cardboard boxes. And ears.

The box probably has a cameo- it's just chillin at Baker Street. You can see it next to Watson's chair.
