( CRITIQUES )

I'm basically only human, which means I'm liable to make some mistakes on characterization. Especially if it's the first time I'm playing said character. This is why posts like this exist. Feel free to comment & critique me on my interpretation of Kurenai Otoya; I'll do my best to listen & take in any advice you might have for me ( Read more... )

I can't say I really get why Otoya dislikes or treats Mio like that. Isn't the point of Otoya that he is some kind of Jesus ( ... )

Now this is concrit. I'm happy to know that you think this way because I always like concrit.

You're right in saying that he's a Jesus. I'm still not used to playing him so I'm liable to make mistakes. I probably need to canon review to get a hold of him again, seeing as I haven't watched the series in a while.

I'd forgotten about the Jirou thing, as well as the Wataru thing. Again, I probably need to canon review. But I'll try my best to fix my playing & hopefully be IC again.

I just woke up again & thinking on it I do have an explanation for why he doesn't like her. I think he's a family man; he loves his family, he'd do anything for them & knowing that Mio manipulated his sons doesn't exactly give Mio a plus in his book.

That's why I mentioned that Otoya isn't exactly a sweetheart to Wataru. I don't know if I'd say he's a family man, because we don't really see him have a family, and what we do see is his basically trolling Wataru. But we do see he's a ladies man through and through. I don't know, I think he'd give Mio the benefit of the doubt and try to understand why a lovely girl would do what she did. (And there were a lot of reasons for what Mio did, up to and including one of Otoya's sons not giving her, i.e. Taiga, basically cornering her and not giving her many other options.) I also think it'd be funnier if Otoya tried to help Mio the way he helped/trolled Megumi when he was stuck in Wataru's body, but hey.

Bottom line is that I'm surprised that Otoya made up his mind so quickly about Mio when there are so many canon indications that he'd give her at least a chance. But this wasn't really concrit so much as it was expressing my doubts. I wasn't really expecting anything to come of it!
