Chris went to take a test at the navy office today, to see if he could make nuclear engineer, and he did. He is very excited about it. He won't leave for bootcamp until November, instead of in august, which is bad because he will just have to stay that much longer at his dads house, but good because he will have that much longer with me, and the ( Read more... )

yeah, he explained about the whole A and C school. youre talking about the school in NY right? why does that school suck so much? and why only maybe would he go to C school? yeah he knows about the whole sub thing, but he said something about if he wants to go on sub, then he would go to a school in North Carolina, not south.

i know you are there if we need you. i will tell him what you said and let him know you can call him if he wants to talk. i love you sissy!

Minna meant to say "cool beans".

This link is for military pay tables. E2 is seamen apprentice and E3 is seaman.

To emphasize again, that school has either the highest or tied for the highest fail out rate in the Navy. I was thinking about that job for me before minna and I had a serious talk about only one of us being in the military if we wanted to be together. Hope he's dedicated and likes math or trouble will be in his future. Don't think I'm trying to discourage. Just letting you know what he's getting himself into and that it's really not something you wanna mess up first time round. Really don't want to end up being a deck seaman.

yeah, i figured you probably would have looked into it, i was thinking "wouldnt it be funny if thats what matt wanted to be?" he does like math, and is really good at it too.

he explained the whole paygrade thing to me too. we talked later that night and i had him clarify that stuff for me.

i am not sure if he has definately signed up for that job or if it is only one is considering.

i love you, thank you guys for all this!

Is he interested in becoming a linguist? Have him just go up and take the DLAB. See what kind of score he gets. If its over 100 then he should probably go out for it. Have him take the test and give me a call, cause I know a lot more about the program than most recruiters would.

Even if he has signed up for NUKE, have him take the DLAB anyways. Its a fun test! Its good to keep your options open.
