The kids are off at school and I'm sitting here with a bottle of hair dye smeared on my head trying to soak that ash brown dye into my smattering of gray hairs. The sheets are in the wash, and I'm thinking about all the other odd jobs that need to be done around here

So Rachel is doing okay with the expander? That's wonderful. The thing is so intimidating. Results are pretty spectacular though.

She hated the expander at first but after a day or two she was ok with it. Today they put the wire on her brackets and also added brackets to the bottom teeth. Needless to say she's having a fit about that now, but I'm sure she'll get used to it, at least enough to not be miserable all the time.

I think it helps that she really can't see the roof of her mouth. Every time I crank that thing, it freaks me out a little but I can't let her know that.

What kind of dye do you use? I'm thinking about starting with the dye. I've been using a glaze, which works pretty well, but my gray hairs are starting to call their friends and have a party around my hairline. Fun.

I'm afraid right now the dollhouse is still in pieces and it might remain that way for a while.

As for hair dye, I never really use the same brand. I just get whatever permanent color I can find at the store I'm at, hopefully in a light shade of brown. I've found that whatever shade is on the box usually comes out slightly darker, so it's best to pick something a shade lighter than what you really want. My gray hairs started in the front, but I can see now that they're slowly creeping to the back of my head and multiplying at the same time. I'm not ready for that yet!

No joke. And I haven't yet figured out how it's biologically impossible to have both acne and grey hairs at the same time. That's just wrong.

LOL. My co-worker and I were talking about that same thing just a few days ago! I had a major break-out recently and I don't know which irritates me more...the gray hair or the acne. Isn't there a stage in life where you don't have to worry about either? It's like having summer and winter at the same time with no fall or spring in between.
