As soon as Conner entered the room, he immediately headed for the food table where the rest of the guys seemed to be congregating. He wasn't hungry, but maybe he'd look like less of an idiot as long as he stayed out of the way. He looked around the room for Addy, wondering if she was there yet. He hoped she came. Maybe he would actually ask her to dance.
Selphie had arrived early and was already circling the room in search of either her friends, or new people to join the Garden festival committee for next year. She had already approached a few people, and been turned down - but the night was still young!
"Well, don't you look right pretty," Irvine drawled from behind Selphie. He had caught sight of her almost immediately on entering the room. Despite her small size, she was remarkably easy to spot in a crowd. Maybe it was the hair, he pondered.
Irvine was, to his dismay, without his usual outfit. He was wearing his student uniform, having opted for that over a suit and tie. He felt a bit naked without his hat, but knew it wasn't appropriate for the occassion. Of course, that was one reason why Irvine usually tried to avoid such occassions..
Selphie sighed a little, rolling her eyes. "It's just my SeeD uniform," she replied. "You've seen it a thousand times, Irvine." She turned around to face him, gasping a little in surprise. "Look at YOOUUU!" she exclaimed loudly, clapping her hands together.
He really looked amazingly different dressed neatly in a proper uniform. Squall and Zell looked natural in their uniforms - both school and SeeD. But to see Irvine in uniform was almost surreal, like someone had photoshopped his face onto someone else's body.
As he entered the room, Zell shifted his shoulders around uncomfortably in his uniform. Formal wear totally was not his thing, but that certainly wasn't going to stop him from enjoying a party. Fortunately, it only took him a couple seconds for him to be distracted away from his uniform. Zell briskly walked through room and headed straight for the snack table, really hoping they had made hot dogs for the ball.
Lore entered the room determinedly, her arm linked through Addy's as she half-pulled her along. She looked around to see who was here, and spotted Zell. She walked over to the snack table, grinning.
Unfortunately, Zell had not considered the fact that people might approach him, and that his mouth being stuffed with food would make it difficult to greet people. He had, in fact, greedily stuffed his mouth with several hors d'oeuvres, trying to taste them all as quickly as possible.
When he saw Lore approach, Zell sheepishly attempted to grin without opening his mouth and gave a friendly wave as he tried to chew and swallow his food as quickly as possible.
Lore giggled. "Don't choke," she warned. She spun around, showing off her new uniform, hands poised on her hips like a model. "So what do you think?" she asked excitedly.
Lore grinned as she left the Quad with Zell in tow. "You're kind of a little amazing, you know that?" she said sincerely. She always had fun with Zell. "So what's your favorite color?" she asked. "I got a few kinds of purses. Not like belts. When it comes to belts or hats, I'm your girl."
"Really, I am?" Zell briefly rubbed at the back of his head and tried not to blush. Nobody had really called him amazing before. "Ya know, you're not so bad yourself!" he replied with a grin. "As for my favorite color, I'm gonna have to say red!" If he wanted to be really bold, he'd go for a pink purse, but he decided he didn't want to take it too far too soon.
