Who: Rinoa, anyone else.
What: SeeD ball
When: Saturday!
Where: The Quad
Status: Open
It was oddly like the last SeeD ball she had attended.
Only a visitor, Rinoa was once again on the outside of the event. She could still remember exactly how she'd felt before, searching for Seifer and being so disappointed that he hadn't shown. Little had she known then, he hadn't graduated, but she'd gotten all dressed up for him. Though she hadn't quite decided, she could remember how she'd felt, and how she'd considered giving "them" another chance. She'd missed him, and had thought the ball would be the perfect time to hook up.
She hadn't hooked up with Seifer, though. Instead, someone else with quiet eyes and a stern mouth had caught her attention, and she'd approached him. It was the little things that could change a person's life.
Rinoa hadn't had the faintest idea that Squall would become her boyfriend, the person she trusted more than anyone else. She'd just known he was cute, standing on the sidelines, and looking more than a little lost.
Now she was here looking for him, and having just about as much luck as she'd had with Seifer.
Lower lip sliding into a pout, she paused just at the fringe of the gathered crowd, looking a little bit apart and a little bit unsure, only for a moment. Then, before she could think twice about it, she plunged in.
She looked just like any other girl attending. Well, one that wasn't a SeeD, anyway. She'd bought a brand new dress, and it was very flattering. The hem, abbreviated to just above her knees, was made of a flirty lace fabric lightly dotted with polka dots, and the bodice was fitted snugly around her bosom. The fairy pink, pale enough to be tasteful but pink enough to be girlish, suited her complexion, and she accented the entire outfit with a smart pair of white high heels and a white headband that pushed her bangs away from her face.
She thought she looked very cute. Too cute for Squall not to be here, enjoying her presence.
Fingering the clunky white bracelet that adorned her right arm, she scanned the crowd for him. But she still couldn't see him.
Feeling disappointment fall leaden into her stomach, thinking that he'd been called onto a last-minute mission, she murmured, "Where are you, Squall?"
