Does anyone have a laptop lying around that i could beg/borrow/rent/purchase? All it needs to be able to do is turn on, find a wireless network, and operate a web browser. Preferably more than once.
I have a Dell Inspiron 8200 that I haven't used for over a year. However, it does have a couple of issues.
1) The battery is basically useless. It will last for maybe 30 minutes. A replacement can be found on eBay for around $50-60 I'm guessing.
2) It currently does not have built in wireless, however, it does have an internal mini-pci slot and antenna which can accept a card. One of these would be around $30-40 on eBay.
It's a powerful laptop even though it's 4 years old; 1.8GHz Pentium 4 mobile, 256MB RAM, CDRW/DVD drive, 30GB hard drive, floppy, 15" SXGA screen. I even have a case for it.
The reason I stopped using it is because it started crashing and throwing BSODs on boot. I'm relatively certain that a format and reinstall would alleviate this. I think I'll pull out the laptop and start playing with the format command now.
I would like to sell it for a small price, maybe $200, assuming a Windows reload does the trick. If you might be interested, let me know.
