I've finally seen the musical I've heard so much about. It was rather strange, seeing the whole thing played out that way, and at such a pace! The barricade went up and its builders down all in a few minutes. Necessity, I suppose, but odd all the same.

I'll admit I couldn't always pick out who was meant to be who, but I did spot one fellow ( Read more... )

*pouting* And not a hint of me in the mix, I'm sure, not even among the chorus--!

I'm afraid not. But they'd never have found an actress appropriate for the part, you know.

*petulantly, though not taking herself quite seriously, thank you* Well, they might've written me in as a reference at least, though if they couldn't even manage to get your dear head right, I shouldn't think they'd try very hard to cast me appropriately.

Yes, a reference might have done. M. Hugo was courteous enough, after all. Perhaps they despaired of capturing your loveliness in only a few lines-- for at such a pace they surely would not have been able to devote the time deserved. *and while he is teasing, it is with a sort of conviction; a joke that is quite true* As for my head, I suspect they couldn't convince a fellow of the right age to shave off his hair. I doubt I would have.

Oh, that's -- I'm honored that I was so noticeable! And so fashionable! *bling bling* I wonder where Courfeyrac had gotten off to... Quite immersed in Grantaire's speech that I can never quite follow, er, I expect..! :)

You certainly did stand out from the crowd. *grin* None of the fellows left over after the ones I could pick out looked anything like him, but I suppose he was meant to be one of those. It was a diverting speech. The slurring always makes it difficult.

*with a completely straight face* Just as no man can hope to match Jehan's excellent taste in waistcoats.

Well, of course he would. But then that'd make the show a half-hour longer, and I hardly expect anyone would like to be sitting in a theatre for three and a half hours, as diverting as I can be.

That's true. Although they could always have ended the ramble abruptly with your tipsy self tipping straight off the chair you were standing on and falling quite unconscious.

That happened quite often, if I remember correctly.

Exactly. It would have been perfectly characteristic.

I saw it, too!

I'm sorry, but I really couldn't watch that man who was playing you-- you looked nothing alike, and he wasn't very talented at pretending, either. At least the man thatw was evidently me had long enough hair to wrap around his neck if he got cold, in the absence of a scarf or five. I'd hate to think what would happen if not-I got ill in the middle of all that running around.

I was never sure which he was, actually, or I'm sure I'd agree. --My, that's useful. You'd never catch a chill again.

You had that horrible pink and blue striped coat and that large amount of brown curly hair. I think, that's what 'm guessing anyway, because that man was always next to not-me, so really, deductive logic? --I know! Right now, I'm considering letting my hair grow out longer, if it grows at all, anyway. Would it bother you? Because, I wouldn't at all if it bothered you, if it did, 'f course.

That would make sense. And it'd be my luck to end up dressed so, wouldn't it? -- It wouldn't bother me. As long as it remains yours I'll be terribly fond of it.
