It's the holidays and I just turned 42 and things are a little weird right now and I'm feeling my age for the first time in my life (says the man who had a triple bypass at the age of 39) but I just want to say...do things NOW ( Read more... )

There are 5 good reasons I don't go skydiving, rocky mountain climbing, 2.7 seconds...

Conversely, I also don't exercise because I find the entire concept personally offensive and wastful of time time, which I know is pure ego and bullshit to boot.

But back on track, with a real-life example: We're $4,000 short of the money we needed to send Heather to Israel to study for the semester - a dream she's been carrying for over a year. So I'm thinking that whatever I think I "deserve", is going to have to wait.

Oh, that part is clear. It's carving out time (not to mention $$ for said gym, although just a walk around the block would suffice). Up at 5:30, in bed no later than 1am is the usual schedule. It's hard to squeeze a half hour (not counting changing clothes or showering) into that kind of pace.

I know I know, there's gotta be time 3 times a week. I'm still looking for it. When it becomes important enough (hopefully before a triple bypass) I'll find it.
