The secretary is indeed incredibly creepy. I think one of the aspects I like most about his art is that he inserts something man-made into an ocean landscape, which is usually enjoyed for its pristine nature. If the ocean bottom holds any man-made objects it is usually wrecks and debris, but these sculptures have been placed there quite deliberately. I feel this plays with our assumption of what the sea bottom usually looks like, and I think it's the play between the statues and the environment that gives them that mysterious edge. All IMHO of course. Quite fascinating.
Actually I found the artist through the cultural pages on a Swedish Newspaper, and the I jumped on the net and googled like mad. ;D
And thank you - I cannot say I dislike such kind words. :)
There is something magical about this - I agree. Though I must say I would have liked to know before diving down - being a bit of a wuss when it comes to those things. ;)
I always find being underwater both terrifying and comforting at the same time; I want to open my mouth and just breathe it all in, but...well, that would not be particularly beneficial to my continued health. ;)
Really fascinating images that make my brain tick over. Thank you for posting! ♥
I actually have a similar reaction to heights. I always get this urge to jump when I'm on high buildings, and for the life of me I cannot explain why. But there you go.
And these images make me think as well. I'm fascinated by the whole mix of human created objects in an environment we usually consider natural and pristine. Also the whole light-under-water effect is yummy.

And there is something special about under-water, with the light and how wavy hair becomes. It is really quite beautiful.
