Once again, Supernatural continues to deliver. It is so good to be able to watch it along with *most* of the SPN fandom ... and the hubby! :)
We're having fun speculating about the apocalypse and which biblical references Kripke and co will use next time, now that we've got "Lazarus Rising," "In The Beginning" and of course, the book of Revelations. I appreciated Dean's candid questions about God, which went perfectly with the awesome title "Are You There God? It's Me, Dean Winchester." The last 5 minutes in particular were very well done - Castiel and Dean's interactions are thoroughly intense.
That said, I have to confess being somewhat dissatisfied with the witnesses storyline, esp. given its significance as the first broken seal. The guilt trip felt overdone. Henricksen was compelling and revealed a little more about Lilith's nature, Meg's argument about Sam's actions with Ruby carried more weight than her melodramatic backstory, while Ronald and the two kids failed to resonate for me. Heck, Ronald was shot by the police due to his own personal blunder! There could've been more substance and a stronger emotional connection (esp. for Sam!) if we had brought back Jessica (he felt responsible for her death and kept specific secrets from her), Madison (the werewolf that Sam loved and then had to kill), Gordon and YED's Special Children (esp. Ava or Jake) instead. Still, I understand actors aren't always available and am looking forward to what happens if and when the other 65 seals are opened...
