We took possession of the house tonight. We started putting up painting tape in the kitchen. I feel homeless right now, since the house is empty and the apartment is a disaster, with all our stuff in boxes. I'm so happy that we have the keys, I really feel like it's my house now. :)

Over the weekend, tincow and I made our first pilgrimage to Home Depot, to buy stuff for the house. Tomorrow is the day we take possession of it, and we've got a lot to do before the moving truck comes. We bought a ladder and painting supplies. I read in the commuter paper this morning that a lot of Americans are feeling stress about the election. Obamaniacs think the country will go down in flames under another Republican administration and Republicans think that Obama will destroy the America that they love. Last week, I found a random zucchini in the veggie drawer. I have no idea what I bought it for, but it was still ok to eat. Closing was surprisingly not stressful. We did our walkthrough, signed a ton of papers, and that was it! Now, we can start packing...

The plan last week was to make seared scallops with fennel salad and kumquat tarragon vinaigrette But, Wegmans didn't have kumquats, and tincow didn't feel like fennel salad. Obama won the debate. He kept his cool, he responded concisely to all of McCain's accusations, and explained all of his points very well. Which was basically all he needed to do to look better. Our home inspection was fine, and we got the Radon test results back today, and they were fine, too. So, the only thing we have left to do is review the HOA documents, they're the last contingency in our contract. We had our home inspection today, the inspector found some minor things, but overall the house was in great shape! We close at the end of October.
