Didn´t know you had studied Torres García--I love his art too! Era Uruguayo, y muy orgullosos de esto! Si hubiese sabido, te traía algún poster suyo de Uruguay. En el próximo viaje, quizás... Loved the pictures and sounds like fun listening to Carlos´s side dish of historical remarks to go with the art! We miss you! Mila
Yeah I think my favorite piece of his is the one where he has the map of south america, but he turns it upsidedown so Uruguay is on top and center stage. It´s pretty brilliant, I think. :) But don´t worry about bringing me a poster. I already have too many. :P
Such images!

Beautiful in every way--in sculpture and in your words (last paragraph). I think Torres Garcia is one of Uruguay's most famous artists, no? Do you remember seeing his artwork at the Buenos Aires Museum of Contemporary Art?
Exactly whereabouts in Spain are you? I feel like I've seen a million different city names floating through your journal and I don't know which is home base or what sort of range of distances you're travelling around to see people and the country...
Just thought of this 'cause I was looking over percussionist Le Quan Ninh's tour schedule and although the man comes to the US about once a decade (which drives me insane because he's a fucking genius), he is playing on March 25th, at the 2006 Nous Sons Contemporary Music Festival in Barcelona with Frederic Blondy (piano). And I figured I might as well give you a head's up if you were curious 'cause his playing is guaranteed to blow anybody away. And I could live vicariously through you.
But then it occured to me that for all I know you could be in the exact spot that is the furthest from Barcelona in all of Spain and this info is useless.
My homebase is Pamplona, which is not *that* far from Barcelona. The other places I´ve been going haven´t been more than 2 hours away, and Barcelona is more like 4... I would just have to convince my cousin to go with me. I´d like to explore Barcelona anyway.
Do you know what else is going on related to that festival? Mostly music, or other events?

Then nature does the same... why can't people just slow down sometimes and be inspired by everything around them?!
(note to self: take own advice)
