The poem below the cut breaks me into two pieces. It's terribly sad to identify with the themes, narratives, and images in the piece, and yet, I do.

WISHBONE

You saved my life he says   I owe you everything.
You don’t, I say, you don’t owe me squat, let’s just get going, let’s just get gone, but he’s

I, too, got into Dexter via Netflix. We streamed Seasons 1 & 2. Season 3 you had to do via mail order. Luckily, it was on sale at Target for $17! So, I'm about 4 or 5 episodes into Season 3. I heard that Season 4 (that just ended) was, to quote a friend, "BANANAS!"

::sigh:: How much do you love Michael C. Hall? Were you a fan of Six Feet Under? That's my favorite series of all time.

I've heard I'm nowhere near the good stuff, which of course makes me SO excited. I haven't watched it in a hot minute because it sucks me in hardcore and I end up watching three episodes in a sitting when I should be doing my work.

I adore Michael C. Hall in the show! He's brilliant. Really. I was a huge fan of Six Feet Under, though I never finished the show. I have a big problem with that -- I never want to let my shows go, so I try and stop watching them at "high" points, which is lame. Six Feet Under was so subtle and nuanced and beautiful. Did you have a favorite character?

I was very fond of David. Rico also won me over a lot, too. My boyfriend loves Nate. You must see it through! (I understand where you're coming from, though. I was left emotionally bereft after I got through it all.) The finale was probably the best finale I've ever seen in my life. We watched it a week or two ago for the first time. And then watched it again the next day.

I have to get back on the Six Feet Under train! I used to watch Buffy, and I avoided the final season for YEARS because I didn't want to finish. I wanted to know I still had episodes left. Also, I am cautious. I hate when shows disappoint me. Right now, I'm head-over-heels in love with Mad Men, and I'm worried it will break my heart.

Your comments regarding the finale make me want to return to one of my favorite TV families....
