it sounds to me like you've given them enough chances. if you care about them, it's tough to let that go, but from now on, just be careful around them. Don't let them get close enough to hurt you until they prove themselves worthy. and you'll know when they've proved themselves. don't fall for anything they say or do too quickly anymore.
