Ain't that the truth. Anyone know why that is? Maybe it's because other people feel they can exploit these people easier, hence putting them in a more marginal role. Maybe it's because they produe a reacton in others that cause them to be seen as less confrontational, making them easier to "win" against

Depends on what 'winning' is. You said it right, it depends on what you care about, as my history prof. said, historical wars havent been won by heros. They are won by the person who is willing to tough it out the longest. That usually has to do with this american belief in manifest destiny, in the same way the not-nice guy wins in shit that the nice guy doesnt care about so much. Nobody is a not-nice guy (or a nice guy for that matter) in everything, just the things they really care about.

That's not true. Nice guy doesn't mean not caring. The nice guy could care 10 times as much about a job, but the ass will still get the recognition for the good work accomplished. The nice guy cares just as much if not more, in general. But he also generally knows what the good move is, and that's why he gets shit on.

hmmm... im just saying a nice guy knows when to draw the line... the asshole keeps going. If a nice guy is working 10 times as hard, it takes an asshole boss to not recognize the nice guy over the asshole and who wants to work for an asshole boss but assholes?
