Adventures in Bike Buying

Now that the warmer weather is approaching, I decided to buy a bike so belfebe and I can go riding together. I have also signed up to do the 33 mile Tour de Cure with her as well, so I needed to get training. FYI, she owns a Specialized Dolce, which is a light, speedy road bike

Whoo hoo! Scott's current bike is the Crosstrail disc and, yeah, he can't keep up with me on the Dolce. You chose well. :)

The best bike advice bromeister gave me was 1)buy gel pad shorts and 2)buy gel pad gloves. Those two things were a terrific investment, and your hands and nether regions will thank you.

When I was in grad school, I used a Schwinn commuter bike that is a cross between a road bike and a mountain bike. It is currently gathering sawdust and spiderwebs down in the shop. :( I used to ride with the local cycle club twice a week, and, I have to agree, if you want to keep up with the pack, you need to have a road bike (or find a slower pack to ride with).
