I want to be your lucky star

HAPPY
NEW
YEAR!

This year, I will just skip the lj meme thing. (And anyway I'm too busy cooking to do one). So, before this year ends, let me just tell you what happened last Saturday.

It started out as the usual Saturday morning. I woke up at around 1 in the afternoon, made my bed, ate lunch and then proceeded to do TV surfing. Oh I took a bath somewhere in between. Kuya called to tell us that he wanted to have dinner outside because he's going back to Cebu on Jan. 3. He said it would be his treat. Told us we should just meet him somewhere in Katipunan because he's going to be attending the party of Kuya Lesly, a high school friend and kinda like a Kuya to us, too. So I continued to watch TV; came upon Heroes on C/S. I haven't watched Heroes in a while so I was really into it. At about 6 pm, I was asked to change clothes so that we could go to Katipunan and meet up with Kuya. I was kinda pissed at that time coz it was still early. We were supposed to meet at 8 pm! So I was being miserable and pahirap on my Mom and my sister. Haha. So got in the car and drove off at about 7 pm. At this time, I got a weird text message from Mariel Chavez saying she couldn't come because her mom had to use the car. So I was like Did we make plans to go out today? This kinda gave me a scare about my memory. I wasn't that old! So I asked her where she's going. But she didn't reply. So I just thought she might be drunk and sent me the wrong message (even though my name was in that message). Anyway, before we went to Katipunan, we stopped at Mercury Drug near Marcos Highway to buy medicine for my sister and to buy tissue for me (I was having rhinitis in the car). But then Kuya texted me and asked me to buy Gatorade. So I had to go back to National Bookstore to get more money from my Mom, and then go back to Mercury. There was no Gatorade. So I texted Kuya back and asked if he wanted Red Bull or ActivAde. He just said Ok.. Thanks. So I was like WHAAAAT. What does that mean??? So I asked him what he wanted me to buy but he didn't reply. I was getting pissy because he was wasting my time. So I left and did not buy anything. Haha. Bahala na si batman sa gatorade niya!

Then there was traffic. Horrendous, bumper to bumper, I'm-going-to-bump-into-all-the-other-cars-nearby, obscenity-inducing traffic. Promise, hindi siya gumagalaw. Stupid MMDA people closed off the first U-turn slot and didn't put any kind of sign. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. So we decided to go to Masinag to pass by Tumana or Barangka instead. At this time, my Mom was already pissy and cursing anything moving. She drove like a crazy person. Seriously. She wouldn't let any one else pass through. It was kinda scary. My sister was kinda getting angry too. At this time, I really really really had to go to the bathroom. My bladder was going to burst. But unlike them, I kept my cool. Haha. But it was annoying to sit through that traffic. It was also strange that Kuya kept calling every 10 minutes to check where we were. Gutom na daw kasi si Kuya Lesly eh. At about 8:30 pm, they ate dinner without us. It was also strange that Mama called up Papa to ask about the traffic jam in Marcos Highway. It was strange to me because I thought how would Papa know about it? I mean, what if he didn't pass through Marcos that night? But I quickly dismissed it.

We passed through Barangka. There was minor traffic, it wasn't as bad as the one in Marcos Highway, but as I said, my mother was seriously pissed and at that time, her bladder was also full. Haha. Reached Shakey's Katipunan at about 9 pm. Kuya met up with us outside and then herded us inside, to the function room. I was protesting that I really had to go to the bathroom but he said we should at least say hi first to Kuya Lesly. I noticed some pink and green balloon arc thingy outside the function room. I thought (sarcastically) Wow, ang ganda naman ng party ni Kuya Lesly. Then I noticed it was sooo dark inside, so I asked why. Kuya said a lot of people have already left because it was already so late. So there I was, reluctantly walking toward the door, with a full bladder and an empty stomach. I entered the room and...

Well, you guessed it. Haha.

Everybody was there! My cousins, my Grandmother, my Tito's. Pisay and MBB people. Well everyone who could be there was there. And I was soooooo happy and touched, I couldn't stop the tears from falling. So there.

I should also mention that before this I had no idea what was coming. Well, there was this one time that I was fixing stuff in the living room, because I have OCD (srsly), I came across my sister's notepad. There was four columns in it. The headings were: MBB, Pisay, UPIS, Cousins. The first time I saw it, I thought it might be a Christmas gift list. I thought my mom would send my friends Christmas gifts saying they came from me. The second time I saw it, I asked my sister what it was for. But she didn't answer me, so I was like, okay WHATEVER! Sungit nito ah! Wahaha. I kinda thought about a surprise party for me but then I thought grabe ang kapal naman ng fez ko para isipin yun! So ayun. Oh another hint was from Arvin's multiply. He recently posted pictures of the letter Sir Anton sent from Spain. Hazel put a comment that says dalhin mo bukas ha. So I wondered, were they going on a date or something without me????? NOOOOOOOO. Or are they going to meet at my surprise birthday party tomorrow??? Then again, ang kapal naman ng fez ko diba?

Haha so there. I had a lot of hints about it, but I was too modest to assume that it was really going to happen. But I'm so glad it did! I was wondering what I would do in Singapore for my birthday. I can hardly celebrate with my classmates because 1.I don't know them that well, 2.Some of them smell, 3.Most of them are snobs; and 4.I can't understand them. Corny rin naman kung si Vinni lang kasama ko diba. No offense Vinni. Corny rin kung ung relatives ko lang. That would really blow. So, I'm glad that this happened. I'm happy and thankful that I was able to spend an important day of my life with those I love and cherish the most, albeit it was a bit early and many others couldn't make it. Pero sabi nga ni Dardsie, nandun sila in spirit. Steak sauce. Haha.

It was a wonderful party. Sad lang di ko naabutan ung humongous pizza. :| I was only able to see remnants of it. But all my friends were there, the whole family was there. It was fun! I loved the AVP. You all saw how cute I was when I was little (and you all know how cute I still am today). I loved the roses part, pero medyo nabuking ako dun sa isang rose OHEMGEE. Haha. It was just a bit sad that Dardsie wasn't able to attend the party. Hay, miss ko na yun eh. Turns out she was forced by her parents to attend a college reunion of sorts. (She ended up watching Bratz Movie that night, which is more than enough payback for me. Karma's a bitch! Haha)

Btw, I know realize that I wasn't able to give a proper speech to thank everybody who came to my super casual yet super fun debut. So here goes.

First of all I want to thank Him who makes everything possible.

Thanks to everyone who made this surprise party possible. Thanks Mama for paying for almost everything and for contacting my friends. Thanks Papa for the awesome balloons (I really wanted to take home the arc thingy but then I couldn't because they sold it to Shakey's for two whole boxes of pizza). Thanks to Kuya and Ate Pam (my future sister in law) for arranging everything. Thanks to my sister, Erica for preparing the pictures for the AVP, for contacting friends. Thanks to Bianca for doing the prayer. Thanks to all the relatives who came. I love my family.

Thanks so much to Hazel and Lara for helping out with the preparations for this party. Thank you Val for hosting the event. Love kita kahit di ka sumayaw ng papaya. Thanks to everybody who came. Thanks to Pisay people; you know who you are. You really made my birthday special, meaningful and memorable. I love you guys. Thanks to Miles, Ekay and Beng, the representatives of MBB. You truly rock the whore house. Sayang lang wala si Gabriel to share in all the revelry.

To everyone who came (and wasn't able to come), from the bottom of my heart
Thank You :)

Kahit na sobrang late ako (curse Philippine traffic!!!), kahit na parang wala naman tayong masyadong ginawa, y'all made me feel special and loved. Just like a princess. HUWAAAAAT.

*Pictures from our camera and Kuya's DSLR to be uploaded at my Multiply site SOON. Haha.

And with that, I end my lj post for the year 2007.

Happy New Year, Y'all.
