Have you seen 'How to Date an Otaku Girl / Fujoshi Kanojo' ? I tried to watch the movie twice but in the end couldn't finish it. The female lead was obnoxious (I like yaoi but please don’t put me in the same category with her D: ), the movie boring and naive. I thought I can't use long grain brown rice. I've been reading this blog a lot lately http://www.justhungry.com/ and the author (she is Japanese) keeps saying that it won't work for Japanese dishes (sushi, mochi, etc) The rice has to be Japanese sticky rice... but I have no idea. Maybe it could work but perhaps the author wants her recipes to stay authentic? Have you made sushi with "normal" rice?

(nah, I meant the first, but it is true that the restaurants don't use brown rice! ^^ would be cool if they did, I always opt for the healthier)

Until I started reading that blog, I had no idea that brown sushi rice exists.

I may try to make sushi with long grain brown rice today (if my mother brings me seaweeds). I will see how it goes. I don't really mind if my sushi looks like crap (hey, I'm not selling it!) as long as it tastes good :)

I know, the blog is great! I want to make sweet red bean paste soon :] Also, tofu. But this one seems more difficult.
