The library has given up sending paper mail when new books arrive on my Reserved shelf. I never got them to alert me by email. I suppose I will have to just check in once a week - not that I mind.
TBR Books:
Whitechapel Gods (SM Peters)
Deathless (Catherynne Valente)
Not Yet Arrived On Library Reserve Shelf:
Teatro Grottesco (Thomas Ligotti)
The Nightmare Factory (Thomas Ligotti)
Grimscribe (Thomas Ligotti)
Taverns of the Dead (Thomas Ligotti)
Author recommended by
azuire. For some reason the system wouldn't let me reserve The Shadow at the Bottom of the World.
Momo (Michael Ende)
Redemption in Indigo (Karen Lord)
Skin Folk (Nalo Hopkinson)
Whispers From The Cotton Tree Root (Nalo Hopkinson)
Midnight Robber (Nalo Hopkinson)
Brown Girl in the Ring (Nalo Hopkinson)
Only read a couple of her short stories, but what I've read I've really liked, so it's time to check out more of her stuff, I think.
The Serpent's Shadow (Mercedes Lackey)
The Wizard of London (Mercedes Lackey)
I've already read three out of the five published Elemental Masters books (fairy tales retold in early 1900s England in a world where Elemental Magics exist), so the completist in me figures WHY NOT.
CoLAPB's online system is a dinosaur (you have to re-login for each book you reserve; aforementioned problems with making them alert me by email; the only thing that works is renewing current checkouts), so it's annoying to put up with long enough to reserve books. I know there's more to reserve, but after logging in 12 times just to reserve the above books, I was too irritated to continue doing it for the millions of other books I want to read.
Any author/book recs? I haven't read nearly as much nonfiction these past two years as I should, and I'm trying to branch out from reading just fantasy, so I'm open to any and every ideas.
