Okay, I will apologize to everyone for dropping off the face of the earth. So, I will do a grand big update of my life right hear for you all. Click on the LJ shortcut that you're interested in and read more. Hopefully I will be more consistent after this and I will quit falling off the face of the earth. It makes for a very rough landing.
So, I got a job. I work for a company that makes auxiliary power units for semi trucks. I think it is a great idea with a potential for major growth. The biggest thing is that I have a high maintenance boss who (I'm sure it's not intentional) gives off the impression that he is the only one who can do things right and since no one is him, then no one is right. Mostly he and his wife are major micro-managers. Nothing bad really. Just tiring. It's a job, and it's neat. But I am glad for weekends to recover from the workdays.
I take the bus to work. So, that makes me get up earlier, but it also means I get home later. So that unfortunately eats up my time. Still, the bus system down here is a pretty cheap price. $28 for a monthly pass. $1 for a ride and 25 cents for a transfer. Granted, the bus system isn't very extensive, the information on the website a little more difficult to navigate, and they don't run very late. Still, $28 a month over how ever much I would have to pay for gas is a great deal. This also means I will continue to delay getting a car and thus, car insurance. $28 a month is much cheaper. Also, I get a little bit of exercise with walking. Granted, I am lucky in that I don't have to walk far to the bus stops I need, but still, exercise is exercise. And I borrow my parents' cars to go to other activities, mainly church.
Speaking of church...now that summer is over, we have a rather small young singles ward. I am ward librarian and ward music chair. And I am expected to start giving the bishopric suggestions for....choir director, choir pianist, Relief Society hand waver (chorister), and eventually a replacement (or at least a back up) for our organist because he's possibly graduating and moving soon. Really, the only other music calling that actually has been issued according to our ward records is our sacrament meeting chorister. Woo. Still, it's a good calling. Though, I just realized it means I'll be having to think about the Christmas Program and Special Musical Numbers. Oh well.
So, in recap, I have a job that takes my days. I have transportation that takes some time, and I have church that takes my other time, leaving me with little time to harass people online. Dear me. Living in the real world sure isn't fun sometimes. This is all the more encouragement for me to just write a best selling novel so I have an excuse to spend hours on end on my computer, monopolizing my friends' time. Or at least so I don't fall off the face of the earth some more. I will say, I have decided to do NaNoWriMo this year. It will help me get one step closer to my goal of actually have a full novel manuscript that might not be a total mess of words.
So that's about it. for now anyway. I will try to stay on the face of the earth and update once a week instead of once in a blue moon. So, if I've missed anything here, I will hopefully add it in later. Have a great week my friends.
(By the way, I did not purposefully forget social life. I currently have none. I blame the boys in my ward. ^_^ )
