Would it be rude if I asked what a decent pink house runs for in Florida? The SF Bay Area always has me looking enviously elsewhere for cheaper housing.
Paying $178,500 while it appraised at about 180. About 1450 square feet, two beds, two baths, a sun room area, in ground sprinkler system (well), not in a flood zone (really important around these parts). The neighborhood is one of the nicer ones in the county that's still affordable.
It was previously occupied by a little old lady, and it shows: pink drapes, the bedroom that smells of weiner dogs, a portable AC unit in the master bedroom's wall (despite having central AC) and one of those old folk bathtubs that you walk into and sit down. You know, the ones you see advertised during Price is Right commercial breaks.
Oh yeah, the house also has one of those TV antenna weather vanes coming from the roof. I'm hoping the cable guy can take it down when he comes and uhhh... donate it to the Smithsonian or something.

We can get away with it here -- up north would be a different story.

She bought the house around 1968 for $18,000. O_o

Sometimes I like to entertain (and depress) myself by reading the "What you get for..." feature on nytimes.com.
And uh, congratulations on both thingers!
