We were very fortunate to have fantastic crowds, and I don't mean by size, I mean how into the show everyone was. This past Friday was the largest and best crowd. They ( Read more... )

Wow, I just checked and you really are close to Canada! That's super cool. What grade levels are you teaching?

I know, Prescott is right across the St.Lawrence and the bridge to Canada is right down the street from me. I think I'll be taking some trips to explore in the near future.

I'm teaching K-6. I'll be at 2 schools on a 6 day cycle. I'm in a K-2 building 2 days and then the K-6 building for 4 days. I've been in the K-6 building and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I've got a lot at my fingertips plus the atmosphere there is wonderful. I'm ready to start but honestly I don't even know where to begin.

Suggestions?

A) Are you the only teacher in your district for these grade levels? Try and contact the other people and see what they do. Also, try contacting your upper level teachers, talking to them about goals for the program, and feeding into them.
B) Send a newsletter out to classroom teachers asking for suggestions to integrate what they do in their classroom at grade level into your curriculum (i.e. if they study a unit on Canada then you know that you can do a unit with Canadian music...or America, patriotic songs)
C) Create several goals for yourself and your students for the first year. Visualize your ideal classroom and go from there...what do you visualize it feeling like for the students and you?
Hopefully this helps a little?

Get North Amreica's Choice 2 with Verizon. its slighty more costly but you will get better reception in that area and can work with both Canadaian and American cell phone towers with no roaming. Or if you can prove you made the calls from America (detialed billing on verizinwireless.com register through my account)they will take away all roaming charges. Trust me on this...it's my job
