Yippee, I'm going to NYC in July! It all started as a "maybe", "if-ish" kinda deal, but I have been talking w/ a couple of my DC friends, Katrina and Julie, about getting together this summer. I do not in any way shape or form regret saying "Screw it, I'm going to spend my money" and dropping it on a trip. That's how I met my fiance. :D

So...I say go for it. And I'm jealous, because I'd love to visit NYC.

Well that's just great... You go visit friends and family and end up in Florida and New York. And me? I go visit friends and family and end up in the suburbs outside Chicago, and Ohio. :P ( ... )

Man, being without my computer is killing me. I totally forgot I only have your e-mail address on it--since it's down, this is the only way I know to e-mail you.

So yeah... drop me another e-mail and I'll respond with all the NYC recommendations I promised. The short list is: Battery Park, Staten Island Ferry (free!), Brooklyn Bridge... and the community I mentioned is new_to_nyc.
