A Sexy Oven???

You bet!

I've been doing some research on ovens as the single builder grade one in our house has got to go.  I love to cook and had double wall convection ovens in the old house, this house has a single electric oven that cooks horribly uneven and won't broil at 550!

Here is what I found: http://www.turbochef.com/residential/products/features.aspx

They do have a manufactured line (the ones linked above are hand-built by Alsacian elves or some such) that runs about $8.

Yeah, I keep seeing the Turbochef in all my design mags, and love the sexy look, especially in that orange. Hadn't bothered to look at the price, since what we eventually want to get is something vintage to match the style of the house, the kitchen and our dishware/kitchenware from the 50s, like a refurbished O'Keefe & Merritt (something like this Periscope model, perhaps, or this absolutely amazing 1950-something Aristocrat.

They look realy cool - but how well do they perform? I am hooked on convection, whether Turbochef type for speed or not, because it bakes and roasts much more evenly. I think you could make the Turbochef work in a retro kitchen. I like the idea of marrying hi-tech with a funky style in a retro kitchen. It could serve as a focal point, and certainly a conversation piece :)
