One of the benefits of moving to Tampa is having Disney so close.  When we moved here and got annual passes one of the things I was looking forward to was the Food & Wine Festival they have in the fall.

I had my laproscopy on Wednesday and am finally statrting to feel lucid.  I am not sure if I like or hate pain killers.  After my surgery the doctor sent me home with some Vicoprofen, Vicodin & Ibuprofen combined.  While the incision is small, (and strangely enough confined to inside my naval) and not so painful the rest of my abdomen is very ( Read more... )

So when I arrive at the surgery center on Wednesday I discover my doctor has just called to cancel all his surgeries fro the day - he has a fever of 103! Ugh! I didn't sleep the night before and had been fasting, I 'll I could think was nooo. The past couple weeks I have been cooking and baking more.  This week I got the bug to get more creative with my cooking.  I ended up buying a deep fryer under this guise, but I am sure in the end I will find it mostly used for very common food such as french fries and onion rings. The Bad

A few days before my 40th Birthday we lost one of our kitties; Aspen (she is my icon on this post).  She had gotten sick and the vets tried all they could think of, but it reached a point where it became unfair to her.  She was down to 3.5 lbs, from 7 when we moved in December. So a week and a half ago my company cashed us out of the house in Virginia in advance of the new owner's settlement. Then on May 1 the house officially had new owners. So now we have just one mortgage instead of three. We were carrying both houses-PLUS a bridge loan for the down payment on the house here in Tampa. So now we are doing some projects ( Read more... )

Finishing painting the walls I have primed (using a dark Wine so had to prime), then start painting in the Family Room (A sage like color - light so I don't need primer there). I got out of work late yesterday, so instead of sitting in traffic I decided to make a trip to Border's :)  I had wanted a new cookbook (yes another one) so I figured I'd go browse. Well browsing turned into buying as it tends to at Border's; the things I can find that I didn't know I wanted.
