got m's new car seat, graco comfortsport convertible. Installed rf & what appears to me correctly; but her head flops over so when she sleeps. I realized we've never had a convertible before, the boys went from bucket to ff. What do you do about the flopping?

It needs to be reclined more. Use a towel or cut-up pool doodle to get it reclined so her head doesn't flop.

thanks. i do have a towel at the seat crease; if it reclines any more it will be out of the green zone for the level indicator. i'll see if i can play with it more. she's really okay to ff, i just wanted to leave her rf for a little longer if possible.

I left Remy RF til he was almost 2 and then M moved him FF. It's safer, but M thought his legs were cramped :rolls eyes

Do you have one of those side-pillows for the seat? It should have a flat part for her head to sit on and then cushions around, like this one (only the one I had was just the head not the full body): http://www.mypreciouskid.com/infant-car-seat-cover.html

the seat has one sort of like that in it already. I may just have to get something "poofier" lol

(Do you see me cheering and doing a happy dance? Yippee!) I am so happy she is still RF! That is awesome! J is still RF, too. Current recommendations are to the limits of the seat and it honestly is HUGELY safer. If you can make it to age 2, that would be great. Anyway, on to the seat problem. You can either replace the towel with a section of pool noodle (regular thickness, not the big fat ones) cut to the same width as the seat, since that will not keep compressing down as much as the towel. Or, if it were me, I'd leave the towel and leave the recline alone, as less of a recline is better for older babies, anyway. Roll a receiving blanket up tight and put tape around it to keep it rolled. Position it next to her in the side of the seat and her head should not flop as much when she sleeps.

If the flopping problem is that her head drops more forward, then this might still help, but not as much as if it's a side-ways problem.

((Hugs)) :)

she was right on the edge of being able to turn, but she is still happy rf, so i figured i'd leave her that way for a while. it is more flopping forward, not so much to the side. might try the noodle and see if that helps. or see if she'd be ok with a rolled blanket/pillow of some sort on the side. i've seen those u-shaped pillows for their necks, but she's too little to understand that so i don't think she'd keep it there. if nothing else, maybe i'll leave her rf, but turn her ff just on the long trips, when we go home for thanksgiving & christmas; then she'd hopefully sleep better and be happier for the 3-4 hour trip!
