 Why do I read mpreg when I hate it so much?  I have such a hard time with some of the fics because I honestly can't see a man being so comfortable and/or excited about the idea or being willing to carry to term.  Now if the world has it as a norm it's an okay read, but if it's something caused by alien tech (SGA or Star Trek) then I would love to

I hate MPreg. In fairness, I really hate any sort of pregnancy fic and hate it when canon decides that a good plotline is making the Strong! Female! Character! pregnant. It's a big squick for me. But I especially hate it when it's used to turn a male character stereotypically feminine, there's no explanation for why cis men are able to get pregnant, and there's no discussion of abortion or horror or shock or anything.

I wonder if I would be more positive toward it if I wanted/liked kids. It's just one of those bizarre tropes like alpha/omega in the Sherlock random. Where did that even come from?
