I've now been married for over a year. Crazy, huh? I've learned/thought a few things:
- When you are married, whatever sickness your spouse has, you will most likely get it, and probably worse
- A one-bedroom apartment is simply not enough room
- It's amazing how much you can love someone...simply amazing
- Money can't buy love, and that's ok
- I wonder how people can cheat on each other...I just don't get how you can hurt someone like that
- Every once in awhile, my heart still skips a beat when I hear his voice or see his face
- The car can break, our fictional dog can die, and the lights can
go out for a week, but we'll still love each other and will get through
it
- Yes, I'm annoying at times
- Yes, he's annoying at times
- We both are lousy housekeepers and I'm slowly coming to terms with that fact
- I'm a better cook than I give myself credit for
- He will truly do whatever I ask him...even if it takes a few days
- I love how intelligent he is
- I appreciate the fact that he talks too much for a man
My internship ends at Northwestern on the 20th. I'm not sure what I'm
gonna do with myself. It'll be a hard adjustment for me, as is
everything. I mentioned it to Best Buy but I don't know if they can
give me more hours. I really like working there and hope I get
full-time. They already said that if the budget allows that I will be
hired. Barry said he'd let me know as soon as possible. Until then, I
am crossing my fingers. If anything, they'd keep me on as a
free-lancer, which is something I could live with temporarily. But not
for more than a year...then I'd be forced to move on.
I've been sick since New Year's weekend and pray that it's almost over
(I have never been so sick so frequently and for such a long period of
time...until I got MARRIED, harumph!).. I've been losing and gaining
the same 5 lbs. or so since my anniversary. Thank God the holidays are
over. Now I can finally lose the damn weight!
Christmas was nice. I got a nice coat, a nice scarf, headphones for my
computer, nice candlesticks and a matching serving plate ("You
get nice things now," said Matt's mom), a Super Nintendo (that's what I
said), Star Wars keychains, and a beautiful crucifix, fashioned after
the Pope's crucifix. Oh, and I got "Robin Hood," the Disney version.
Hooray!
Our Christmas tree is still up. God we suck.
Matt and I are going ice skating this weekend! And the twins (Emily?) and I are going tubing, if I'm not still sick.
I have joined my church's choir and have an interview to serve as a
chaperone for the youth group's mission trip to Mexico. Speaking of
which, I have to e-mail Holly! Gotta go!
