I bet 1,000 different people could do screens of this movie and come up with completely unique yet equally beautiful images.

Well, they'd mostly just be a lot of different shots of Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung looking off distractedly, but who could get tired of that?

2046 is supposed to be the sequel, but i haven't seeen it yet, so i'm not sure if there's a directy connection. if you watch this a hotel room tony leung stays in is called 2046. there's also a long deleted sequence on the dvd called 2046 about the hotel room.

2046 is a direct sequel. It's essentially about a series of relationships Mo-Wan gets into after the events of In The Mood For Love, and how he can't get over his relationship in that film.
