Who: Tsuna, Yuri and Shiraishi
What: tennis lessons
When: November 19
Where: Tennis courts in Osaka
Why: Because Shiraishi wanted to teach Tsuna how to play tennis and Yuri wanted to learn, too.
Warnings: Lots of fail, mostly on Tsuna's part.
Tsuna: *too busy looking at the huge bruise on his arm from Hibari biting him to death after school* *walks right into Shiraishi and falls backwards onto his ass* Uh... hi. *smiles weakly* *has bloody nose and black eye*
Shiraishi: Whoa there! *kneels over almost instantly and offers a hand* Tsuna! What happened to you? *eyes him up and down, concerned*
Tsuna: N-nothing... I mean. Hibari but I deserved it. I broke the rules and he was mad about the quiz posting... *is too busy flailing to take Shiraishi's hand*
Shiraishi: *twitching slightly*
Tsuna: *oblivious* I'll be fine.
Shiraishi: That guy doesn't even spare his boss? Ahhh... lets at least get those wounds better and fix you up. Can't play tennis all beat like that. *takes his hand and leads him to a nearby bench with his tennis bags on it*
Tsuna: O-okay... *is led over to the bench where he sits down, knocking over one of the bags and sending a ball rolling across the court* S-sorry.
Shiraishi: *laughs* It's fine. We can get it later? *starts rummaging through bag for his travel-size first aid kit*
Yuri: *goes running past the tennis cage at high speeds, then pauses and breaks, backtracking a bit* Oh hey, I found you. *grins broadly as he spots the entrance and walks in*
Tsuna: *sees Yuri run past then smiles when he comes back* *waves, wincing at the pain in his arm* Yuri's here.
Shiraishi: *pauses his rummaging* Try not to move too much until we get you all fixed up. *looks up to the entrance of the park* What gives, man?
Tsuna: S-sorry!
Yuri: *blinks at Tsuna and raises an eyebrow, not asking* What do you mean? *pulls out a string from his pocket and does up his hair quickly as four cops go running past*
Tsuna: *notices the cops* Were they chasing you again?
Shiraishi: *notices the cops go by really quickly and looks directly at Yuri* Oh, I don't know. Quick disguise when the police go speeding past. I'm glad you made it in one piece.
Yuri: Yeah, somethin' about jay walking, then they got annoyed with my sword again. *glances at Shiraishi and grins innocently* Should I not have?
Shiraishi: *shrugs and grins* It's just a little chase, right? You look like you're still in good shape to play, however, *looks over at Tsuna* We have to do a little nursing for Tsuna here.
Tsuna: *blushes with embarrassment* *starts to reach up to scratch his head then remembers he wasn't supposed to move*
Yuri: So I noticed, what happened to you kid? *leans against the fence and crosses his arms, sword leaning against his legs* By the way, name's Yuri Lowell. Nice to meet you.
Tsuna: After school Hibari... *trails off*
Shiraishi: I'm Shiraishi. Nice to meet you too. *polite Japanese bow, then turns his attention to Tsuna* It was that guy, Hibari.
Yuri: That guy again...? *shakes his head and reaches out, ruffling Tsuna's hair* Bet you gave him a run for his money, right? *smiles*
Tsuna: *shakes his head* N-not really... It would have been worse if I'd fought back.
Shiraishi: *rummaging furiously for first aid kit* What the heck..? Did I leave it at school? *mumbling to himself, saying this and that about leaving it in the tennis clubroom*
Yuri: Well you took your hits didn't you? I bet you didn't cry either. *glances at Shirashi chuckling* Having some issues?
Shiraishi: *sighs* Yes, *scratches head* I seem to have misplaced my first aid kit. I'll have to improvise. Is that alright, Tsuna?
Tsuna: Y-yeah... I didn't complain or cry... *looks to Shiraishi* It's fine.
Yuri: Worse comes to worse you can try some of my gels, I don't know how well cross world medicine goes though. I could also do a guardian field. *thoughtful look*
Shiraishi: *has no idea what that is but is very interested* Oh? Then be my guest.
Tsuna: It's worth a try...
Yuri: *blinkblinkstaaaare* ... I just said I don't know how well cross world medicines will work. I guess the arte should be fine though... *glances sideways as he picks up his sword and tosses the sheath off.*
Shiraishi: *watching him intently; and that SWORD*
Tsuna: *eyes widen at the sword* Uh... what's that out for?
Yuri: *looks at Tsuna and Shiraishi with a straight face* Need a blood sacrifice of course, who's offering?
Shiraishi: *sighs* How traditional. *steps up, removing the bandages off his left arm and offers it* Go right ahead.
Tsuna: He's kidding... I think... *looks at Yuri* R-right?
Yuri: Oh hey, somebody willing, that's good to know. Last time I had to chase after and tackle a guy to the ground, ended up cutting off his hand. *straight face still as he twirls the blade once and walks up to Shiraishi*
Shiraishi: If it's for a friend, then it's perfectly fine. *nonchalant about this* A little cut won't kill me. *wink*
Tsuna: *is on verge of panicking* He doesn't need to get hurt to help me!
Shiraishi: Nonsense, Tsuna. *turns to Yuri* Go right ahead.
Yuri: *whistles* You're a brave guy, now hold still, I'm not used to this sword so I might permanently damage your tendons if I slip. *raises blade and starts to lower it to Shiraishi's arm*
Shiraishi: ...... *gazes at it* Hm.
Tsuna: *covers his eyes*
Yuri: *chuckles and shifts away from Shiraishi, then flips his blade into a reverse position and slams it into the ground, creating a small glowing circle of light that envelopes Tsuna and heals his wounds*
Tsuna: *peeks out between his fingers when he starts feeling less sore and notices the glowing light* *glances over at Shiraishi and drops his hands* Oh...
Shiraishi: *chuckles as well, re-doing the bandages on his arm* Wearing these for the heck of it sure comes in handy
Yuri: *finishes and pulls up, resheathing the blade* Sure look like it, now you'll be ready if I ever really need a little blood. *winks at Tsuna*
Shiraishi: *kneels down in front of Tsuna* So, did it work?
Tsuna: *nods* Yeah, it worked. *holds out bruise free arms*
Shiraishi: *gently grabs onto one of Tsuna's arms to make sure and examines it closely, using his free hand to run his fingers gently over Tsuna's light skin* I see.
Yuri: *raises an eyebrow at Shiraishi's touchy-touchy ways, but makes no comment as he undoes his belt and slips off his jacket, and drops it onto the bench while tucking his sword behind the bags.* .
Tsuna: *is oblivious to Shiraishi's intentions, just thinks he's double checking* Thanks, Yuri. *smiles*
Shiraishi: *glances at Yuri and coughs, letting go of Tsuna's arm* Okay then. I uh, brought 2 extra racquets with me, so.. *hustles over to the bags and rests them against the bench* The court is over there, *points in a northern direction* so let's get to it!
Yuri: I'll put it on your tab. *bends down to grab a racket, twirling it in his hand like he would his sword* Pretty light, so what's the objective of this?
Shiraishi: *grabs a small bag with balls in it and urges them to follow* C'mon, I'll show you.
Tsuna: Wh-what?!? My tab? *gets up and grabs a racket, too*
Yuri: Demonstration teaching, just my style. *grins at Shiraishi as he follows him, casting Tsuna a glance over his shoulder* Yep, you owe me now~
Shiraishi: *opens up the court fence and goes right in, dropping the bag of balls and rummaging for one* The object of this game, *grabs a ball and displays it* Is to hit this ball back and forth at your opponent, while staying within these lines. *points down at the white lines on the court*
Tsuna: O-okay... *scratches his head as he walks towards the tennis court, not sure what Yuri is expecting for repayment* *watches as Shiraishi explains* That sounds easy enough... *doesn't actually believe what he's saying*
Shiraishi: We can just concentrate on hitting and reflexes for now. *smile*
Yuri: That's pretty basic, so I just hit it back and keep it in the lines. *grins* Alright, let's give it a shot.
Shiraishi: That's pretty much the gist of it. Here, *throws up a ball and serves it to the other side of the court's fence* That's a serve.
Yuri: *watches and nods, tightening his hand around the grip* Got it. *checks his racket, than steps back a bit to give himself some room and replicates Shiraishi* Like that?
Shiraishi: *checks his form, which is slightly in the newb range, but acknowledges that Yuri is a fast learner* Wow, that's pretty good
Shiraishi: *reaches to get a ball from the bag and tosses it to Yuri* Try it.
Yuri: *catches it and squeezes the ball once or twice* If you think I'm ready for it. *moves to the side of the court and checks it again before tossing it up into the air, replicating Shiraishi again*
Yuri: Here goes! *Swings the racket and-*
*PONG*
*ball goes sailing WAAAAY over the fence*
Tsuna: Uh... Yuri... I think the ball was supposed to stay in the lines.
Yuri: *looks back at his racket perplexed* This thing packs a lotta power! >//>; Yeah yeah, I'm goin'. Be back in a second. *sighs and walks off to go and try and find the ball*
Shiraishi: *laughs lightly and puts down his own ball and racket to help with Tsuna's form* Your arms need to be more in this position, *reaches Tsuna's arm from behind him and positions them* and *pats Tsuna's right leg* Don't let this leg be so tense.
Tsuna: *nods and tries to relax* *totally doesn't think anything of the touching, Shiraishi is just being helpful* O-okay... and then what?
Shiraishi: Try swinging from this angle. *lets go of Tsuna, but continues to stand a foot behind him* Tell me if it feels more comfortable, if not, I can rearrange your position.
Tsuna: *tries swinging and almost topples over* Er... I'm okay. *regains his balance... mostly*
Shiraishi: *catches Tsuna when he falls back, his chin being slightly tickled by Tsuna's soft hair and chuckles* Not very graceful, huh, Vongola? *regains Tsuna into the position, holding onto him and grabs ahold of Tsuna's arm with his right hand; his left at Tsuna's waist and begins to move Tsuna's hand in the appropriate motion* It's like this.
Tsuna: Thanks. *blushes but not from possibly inappropriate touching, but from embarrassment at being such a klutzy failure* *is paying close attention to what Shiraishi is showing him, wanting to get this right*
Shiraishi: *swings his arm with Tsuna's back and forth gently and notices Tsuna's legs are tensing up again, whispers lightly in Tsuna's ear* Don't tense up so much. Relax. *sliding other hand to Tsuna's left leg and patting it gently* There.
Tsuna: *blushing even more now, again from embarrassment and not from the touching* I'm trying to relax...
*The sound of a tennis ball being hit cuts across and a tennis ball goes sailing into Shiraishi's hand with just enough force to sting a little*
Yuri: Oops, sorry, I was trying to hit it over the fence. *pauses at the door, arms crossed and eyebrow raised* ... am I interrupting?
Tsuna: *obliviously confused* Huh? Interrupting what? I almost fell over trying to swing, so Shiraishi is showing me how to.
Shiraishi: *winces at the pain and shakes his hand out* Interrupting..? *sly grin at Yuri* No, not at all. Tsuna's form is lacking. Thanks for retrieving the ball. Now, Tsuna.. *hands ball* Try serving this.
Yuri: You're a pretty helpful guy, lucky Tsuna has such good friends. *returns the smirk with one of his own as he walks up*
Tsuna: *tries serving the ball. misses it by a lot* Er...
Shiraishi: I can say the same for you. *picks up the ball and smiles at Tsuna* Don't be discouraged. Watch me. *throws up ball and serves as demonstration to the other side of the court*
Yuri: *walks up to Tsuna and nudges his position a bit with his racket* Bent knees, you'll be faster in reflexes that way. And don't be afraid, it's just a ball.
Tsuna: *watches Shiraishi with awe* That was really cool. * bends his knees when Yuri nudges them* I-I'm not afraid!
Shiraishi: It'd be even cooler if you could pull it off. Watch Yuri's form, for example. *looks over to Yuri and feeds Yuri a ball, expecting him to reflex and hit it*
Yuri: *automatically swings at it with way too much power and sends it flying over the fence again* Sonova...
Tsuna: Yuri... Maybe you shouldn't hit it so hard... *shifts the racket in his hand* I guess I'm ready...
Shiraishi: You know what to do, Yuri. *wink* Now then, *bends over to get another ball*
Yuri: *snorts* You can let Tsuna have a round, I'm going to go fetch your balls.
Shiraishi: Here's the ball. *hands it to Tsuna confidently, and after placing the ball in his hand, puts an arm around Tsuna's waist to fix his figure* Hold onto that racquet real tight.
Tsuna: I-I want Yuri to stay. I don't want him to miss it if I hit it. Then he can go get the ball! *shakes nervously with the ball in his hand*
Yuri: *pauses at the door* ... well okay, I can stay for that. *leans on the fence and smiles* You can do it Tsuna.
Shiraishi: Alright. Steady now. *lets go of Tsuna and falls back a foot away*
Tsuna: *tosses the ball up into the air and swings to hit it, only missing by a little this time, but once again, losing his balance and falling backward*
Shiraishi: *runs up behind Tsuna just in time to catch him*
Yuri: *quickly moves up to catch the ball before it can land on Tsuna* Hehe, you're getting better. ; )
Shiraishi: Indeed. *grin* That was way better than last attempt.
Tsuna: Th-thanks. *blushes* This is why I always get picked last. No one wants a clutz like me on their team.
Shiraishi: Some people don't acknowledge potential. That was pretty good, I'd say. Now, let's try hitting the ball naturally. *walks off to the bag to get another ball out*
Tsuna: What do you mean by naturally?
Shiraishi: I'll feed a ball to you, and you try hitting it across the court.
Tsuna: Oh... okay... *bites down on his lip nervously*
Yuri: *ruffles his hair a little* You'll do fine. I'm gonna go grab that ball now, so hit 'em over the fence while I'm there. *winks and runs off the court*
Shiraishi: *watches Yuri go off, then turns to Tsuna* Have you known that guy for a while?
Tsuna: Yuri? A little while, why?
Shiraishi: *smiles* He seems a lot more reliable than your .... Vongola family. *chuckle*
Tsuna: They're not unreliable!
Shiraishi: I'm not saying they aren't. Though, that Hibari..... *trails off* A-anyway. *hands ball to Tsuna* Toss this to me. *then grabs a racquet*
Tsuna: *tosses the ball haphazardly* Like this?
Shiraishi: Perfect! *strikes the ball to the other side of the court* It's just like that. I feed you the ball, and you attempt to hit it. Sound fair enough?
Tsuna: *runs towards the ball and swings wildly at it* *misses*
Shiraishi: Whoa, whoa there. *grips onto both of Tsuna's wrists, laughing* The ball isn't your enemy in this case. It's not aiming for your body, it's going to your racquet. You look like you were fighting off monsters just now.
Yuri: *walking on the other side of the fence looking for the ball as he yells over it* Your swings are a bit wide, try taking it easy.
Tsuna: S-sorry... *scratches the top of his head nervously*
Shiraishi: No need to apologize. *notices tenseness in Tsuna's free arm and uses both hands to cradle it* Are you really that nervous?
Tsuna: I-I'm always like this... *looks like he's about to have a panic attack for being so troublesome*
Shiraishi: *gently caressing Tsuna's arm up and down to relieve the tension* You're so stiff and worried. Take a deep breath. No one's trying to come after you here.
Yuri: *as helpful as ever* Unless, you know, assassins attack. That happens to me a lot actually, my group thinks I'm cursed. Where is that damn ball....?
Tsuna: *starts panicking and looking around nervously* *shouting* You don't think any followed you here, do you?
Yuri: Couldn't tell you, Zagi is one persistent bastard.
Shiraishi: *blinks a couple times*
Tsuna: *is so nervous he drops the racket*
Shiraishi: ....Is there something wrong? *leans over slowly to pick up the racket*
Tsuna: N-no... I'm just... what if assassins attack?
Shiraishi: *blinks a few times* I'm sure Yuri can handle it.
Yuri: Yep, I'm a real bastard when it comes to not dying.
Shiraishi: *mumbles* I'm pretty much the same way. *coughs and hands Tsuna his racket* I don't think there's anything to worry about. Let's just focus, okay?
Tsuna: *takes the racket* O-okay... *is still nervous, but calming down, slightly.
Shiraishi: Good. *pats Tsuna* Now, *picks up a ball again* I'll feed this one off to you again. Tell me when you're ready and in position. And have confidence.
Tsuna: *a few minutes later* I'm ready. *knees bent and ready to try and hit the ball*
Shiraishi: You got it. *lightly tosses the ball to Tsuna*
Tsuna: *manages to hit the ball with the very edge of the racket, sending it bouncing off wildly* I DID IT! Almost...
Yuri: *off in the distance* Hey! I found the ba-
*SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH*
*HONKHONK!!*
Shiraishi: *was about to applaud, then quickly turns in Yuri's direction* What the--?
Tsuna: *drops the racket and runs to the fence* YURI?
Shiraishi: *runs along after Tsuna*
*More honking and screeching*
Yuri: *finally collapses on the other side of the fence* .... whoa.
Tsuna: O.O Are you okay?
Shiraishi: *kneels over to Yuri's side* What... were you doing in the middle of traffic?
Tsuna: I-I don't think there's cars where he's from...
Yuri: ... oh, so that's what a car is. >_>
Shiraishi: I... I see. *sweatdrop* Yeah, you might wanna steer clear of those. Are you alright?
Yuri: Uh, brushed one. Side's a little numb. I think I'll be fine. ^^;
Tsuna: M-maybe you should hit the balls from the other direction so they go into the park and not near the cars...
Shiraishi: I guess we'll have to call it a day, since Yuri's temporary down and all. Should I take you guys to my place for dinner before ya'll return to where you came from? *chuckle*
Tsuna: If it's not too much trouble...
Yuri: Nah guys, I'll be fine. *starts to sit up and flops onto his side with a curse* .... nevermind.
Shiraishi: *offers up his arm to Yuri* Tsuna, would you do me the favor of picking up our mess on the court and carrying our stuff? With the exception of Yuri's sword, of course.
Yuri: Gee, thanks buddy. *takes the hand and slowly gets to his feet* Man those things pack a punch.
Tsuna: *picks up everything and packs it away* *is kind of wobbly carrying everything* What are we going to do with his sword?
Shiraishi: He can still carry it with his able side, right?
Yuri: Yep, I'm gonna be screwed for running though. *digs into his pocket and comes out with a small blobby looking sort of candy, which he eats.*
Tsuna: What's that?
Yuri: It's a lemon gel, they help recover my health. *offers a different color to Tsuna* wanna try?
Tsuna: Er... maybe later... *looks at his hands which are full*
Yuri: Open wide. *winks*
Shiraishi: Does it really affect your health?
Tsuna: O-okay. *blushes, but does so* *sticks out his tongue a little to make it easier*
Yuri: *flips one in and glances at Shiraishi* It does for me, it's kinda like a candy though. I don't really like eating them, but they're handy in battle.
Tsuna: *eats it* Is it supposed to make you feel kind of tingly?
Shiraishi: *interested in this since it's some sort of medicine* I see. It looks a lot like candy.
Yuri: Not really. *blinks as he leans on Shiraishi*
Tsuna: .... It's not? *starts panicking*
Shiraishi: *eyes at Tsuna* Does it feel funny?
Tsuna: Not in a bad way... just kind of warm and tingly
Yuri: ... I might just be used to their effects. You might have to be in pain for it also to work correctly. This could get interesting.
Shiraishi: ...Huh. I just hope it won't damper your appetite for dinner? Mom's doing homemade okonomiyaki tonight.
Tsuna: I-it should be fine... I get poisoned all the time...
Yuri: I wouldn't worry, it goes straight through the system. I have poison bottles too... *blinks as he hears sirens* .... is that good?
Shiraishi: *laughs* Real poison? Kin would get a kick out of you, Yuri. ........Sirens? Or okonomiyaki?
Yuri: Glad to be entertaining, and both. *blinks as they get louder*
Tsuna: *nods* Y-yeah, we should get out of here. You'll like it, Yuri. It's really good.
Yuri: So long as it's not a taste bud killer, I'll love it. Gods, you would not believe how bad cooking can get. >_>
Tsuna: It can't be worse than Bianchi's cooking...
Shiraishi: ...I think we've all had our experiences, hm?
*fades to black and they all go eat at Shiraishi's and Tsuna remains generally clueless*
