Title: Paid A Dollar And A Half To See Them
Pairing: Sooyoung-centric
Rating: PG
Genre: Fluff, Romance, Angst

Jaejoong/Sooyoung; Reason

take my hand. jaejoong whispered in her ear. she looked at the man and saw her clueless expression mirrored in his eyes. jaejoong repeated the statement. sooyoung hesitated. she folded her hands together instead and looked down on her knees.

why? the simple question resonated in the air.
why do you ask? just take my hand. he is stubborn; left hand stretched out towards hers.

sooyoung sighed and looked at him. you need to give me a reason why i should do that, she said. silence followed. jaejoong knew she will ask that. she has always been a curious girl. if she would, she will ask her life away. she asks about how things go and why is it so. she wants an answer to everything. she wants to be sure of everything.

sooyoung is the girl with walls high and heavy surrounding her. many times he had tried to break the wall down. every time he does, he succeeds. only to find out that there are still more walls to tear down.

why do you always ask why? he asked flatly. he was sure she will not answer.
but she did. i want to know the reason behind everything.
if that's what you want, you should learn how to read minds. he replied.

i want to learn that before. she paused, carefully choosing the next words. but i don't want to now.

it is now his turn to ask. why?

she looked up to the sky and sighed before answering. because minds are confused most of the time.
sooyoung then finally took jaejoong's hand only to let it go the next second.

and sometimes it is not really what the mind perceives that the soul wants.
those were the last words he heard before he felt her lips touched his.

Kyuhyun/Sooyoung; Music Box

the ballerina twirled in time with the tinkling of the music box. the sound blending with the soft whistling of the wind. sooyoung watched the toy move around unblinkingly.

the wind blew harder and the shuffling of the leaves on the trees harmoniously blended to the little orchestra of minute mechanical knobs and playful breeze. the sun shone through gaps from the leaves, painting the earth in a warm golden glow as it fades into the horizon--- done with the days job.

she  hasn't moved from her position since daybreak. the green grass, cool and bent from her weight, stuck like dead blunt blades against her skin. her skin, her skin burnt and scarred from the blinding rays of summer. and summer, painting her hair a pigment lighter from it's job of shielding her fragile head throughout the day.

the sun has dried the dew hours before; but it hasn't, even for a moment, dried her eyes. the music ended and the porcelain doll stopped dancing. she woke up frm her reverie. she turned the knob and the toy sprang to life again.

the song picked up and tears flowed once more; two drops falling into the shiny wooden casing. it spilled towards the lines and cracks, until it filled a small carving on the edge of the tile.

you are my melody

sooyoung's lifeless sigh sounded like a broken note against the beautiful music. her eyes travelled from the fragile toy to the marble gravestone in front of her.

kyu.

she buried her face on her arms and let the threads of misery wrap around her again.

i miss you singing me to sleep.

she could not push herself to let the music stop. not when the person who first taught it to her, who first gifted it to her, will never have the chance to be with her again.

Sungmin/Sooyoung; Nostalgia

sooyoung and sungmin used to be inseparable. used to be. because it was all in the past now. that was when nobody really matters and the world was no less larger than the palm of their hands.

they loved each other. though neither ear heard words of affirmation; there was an unspoken understanding between them. words need not be said. it isn't that much necessary when the feeling of love itself comes off strong.

she was head over heels in love with him. and so was he. but time is a great adversary and fighting it is a losing battle. he loved her until he didn't. but sooyoung is still there. still keeping a special spot in her heart for sungmin.

until somebody else came, took out that reserved spot and sat himself comfortably within the corners of her heart.

sungmin admits his days with her gives him a strong sense of nostalgia. not the usual strong and pungent type that punches you in the stomach and leaves a bitter taste in your tongue. but rather the type that fades gracefully like an old photograph. yellowed and curled on the edges, but instead of making things ugly, it becomes a classic beauty.

until that day he received that card. white, sweet-smelling, beautiful.

his fingers trembled as he opens the wedding invitation. then the photograph burst into flames. and the punch came. the raw feeling of angst bites into the corners of his fingertips as he kept on reading the line "request the honor of your presence at the marriage of choi sooyoung and choi siwon" for the nth time because it doesn't register. because he cannot move on.
