This whole election thing has made me realize even more how shitty the media is. I feel like despite how much I try to understand what each candidate wants to do, and what the consequences of their policies will bring, I still know very little. I blame the media for being bias (mainly pro-Obama media). And I blame them for running shit stories ( Read more... )

Sorry if my entry seemed ignorant or rude...sometimes I am overzealous and don't initially think...I haven't seen too much in the media, I've seen both bashing of each candidate. I decided to vote for Obama based on his standpoint for No Child Left Behind Act, Health Care, and creating other energy sources so not to use all natural resources...and he's from the Democrat party. I also think it is important for there to be a black president...it's been too long. And that is why I decided to vote for him and for the first time as well.

*"...candidates can do wellAs far as the media goes, this is always the situation, and it will always be the situation. It won't get any better. Do a lot of research if you are really passionate about it. If you take in enough of the information that they are giving you, and take it in small enough doses from different sources, you can really come up with your own conclusions ( ... )

Indeed, this year is no different than any other year in regards to the media.

Palin bashing is no worse than Gore "Lockbox" skits on snl. There is plenty of McCain promoters in the media, but you are on MySpace and Comedy central not Bill O'Reily's show.

I feel very similar to what you said Mike.

I voted and I had nothing to do with race or any coverage that the media has done aside from the candidates talking themselves or debating.

I think one of the reasons that you might feel like there has been more confusing media attention is b/c there has just been generally more coverage due to the fact that there is a black man running as well as a woman vp.

Also I dont see McCain winning Illinois so your vote might not have made a difference lol. Home court advantage goes to Obama here.

That being said. Mike and I are just a couple of Mavericks, ready to get into the White House and get all Mavericky up in there. Are we not doing the talent portion? *wink*

My mom watches all the conservative stuff so I see Obama bashing too, but I see it on less programs than those who seem to be pro-obama. Thats just what I feel I am seeing though.

The reason I am not voting isn't soley due to the media Mike. Its because I feel that I do not know how their policies will carry out.

And I have been passionate about it as I stated in my post ("despite how much I try to understand what each candidate wants to do"). I do the research, and I still come to the same conclusion.

I don't know what is better for America right now. So I don't feel that I can make that distinction. I am not going to vote knowing that about myself.

Don't get me wrong. If I were to vote it would most likely be for Obama. But I have doubts ya know.

I don't think you are understanding me much. I know voting is good, and that you should vote. But personally I feel that I cannot vote well enough in this election to feel content with my decision. And I feel that doing so is wrong. I voted for someone who I thought was a Dufus last time...just cause I thought I had to vote since it was my right. This time I like them both, but I am unsure overall. If I knew that barely anyone else was going to vote, this decision would probably change, but I know there will still be plenty of people who know what they want, and they will vote, but I am not one of those people right now. I don't see how this is not reasonable...?

So don't vote. Who cares? The decision is made for you.
