Father's Day Blowout.

So, I called my dad on his birthday (the 15th), and since he didn't answer, I left him a message, saying happy birthday, and letting him know that there was a chance that I'd be out that way today, for Father's Day

Like I said, at this point, I'm just playing nice until I can get to his house to get my painting, and if he doesn't shape up after that, it's over. I just don't need or want his bullshit. (Wow, that totally made it sound like I'm breaking up with my dad. Gross.)

But thank you. A lot of effort went into that. Well, okay, some effort. Having a natural way with words comes in handy.

And it helped that I got to vent to my grandma before sending that out. At one point I said, "Grandma, I just... Fluh. Ffufff. Erraaghhh... I have no words to describe how frustrated I am with him.", and she just said, "I know.".

I'm sorry that he is being such a douche. If it were only possible, people like him should be fired from being an adult. I'm proud of you for taking the high road and making the effort. You shouldn't even need to go as far as you do to give him any respect. It's tough, but having no father in your life may be better than having one that tears you down and treats you like shit.
