so apparently internet addiction is a real thing? or at least that was a project a group of high schoolers were doing as part of the nyu basis program. i don't really know the particulars, but i'm thinking if it's real, then i have it

I think there’s a big difference though between being addicted to the internet, and making the internet a part of your lifestyle. Before that sounds like too much of an equivocation, let me explain my reasoning. I’ve had to go without my own laptop for some weeks now, and I realized just how much I’m dependent on it for entertainment. Like, checking Facebook or going on Gmail. There may not be anything productive, but it’s become a habit. What else are we supposed to do nowadays? Even I can’t read books all the time.

Addictions, on the other hand-and this is my own view-disrupt your life and affect your relationship with everyone around you. And as far as I know, you hang out with us and still pass your tests. So, I don’t really think what you say is an addiction at all…I think it’s just modern living, for our generation anyway.
