Is it a "native language" town name, like the dutch towns around here?

I really can't answer that. I've only passed the signs on the highway. It's quite possible, although lots of town names in Saskatchewan are just whatever the guy in charge of building that section of road or rail had in mind at the time. Weird town names are sort of a point of pride in SK.
