When they reach the beach, Jin takes off his shoes while the lady looked at him confusedly. He smiles at her, she reacts to his act. “Let we take off of this, okay?” Jin asks her, still smiling as he helps her to take off her shoes. She doesn’t fight back. A very huge improvement Jin thinks happily. After that, he brings her closer to the water.
She jumps back when the water touches her feet. Jin laughs at her reaction. Her face looks so confused as if she never feels a water before. “Come on, it’s okay. It’s fun,” Jin takes her hand and leads her to walk closer to the water. He releases her hand when she seems to be not afraid of the water anymore. “See? It feels nice, huh?” Jin asks the lady who keeps staring at the water that repeatedly touching her feet. Jin offers his hand to her which makes her looking at him, she looks unsure. Jin keeps smiling while offering his hand to her until she finally takes his hand groggily. His heart soars in happiness, the lady just took his hand. Another huge improvement.
Then they walk hand in hand along the beach. After a while, they sit on the beach. Jin enjoys the view of the ocean in front of him, thinking that it’s also been a while for him to feel relaxed like this. His decision to help this lady who sit beside him isn’t a bad idea. He sees that she’s playing with the sand. This lady never ceases to amuse him with her reaction, it’s different with other days, he realizes that she still had emotion. It’s true that staying in one room for too long could give a bad effect. His decision to take her for a walk is the best decision.
“Hey, I’m going to take our shoes.” He says to the lady who seems to be very engrossed on playing with the sand. “Don’t go anywhere!”
When Jin comes back with their shoes on his hand, the lady isn’t there anymore. He feels a little bit panic, but he calms down when he sees that the lady is only moving closer to the water. She’s kneeling down and it looks like there’s something she’s staring at. Jin walks closer to her. He finds out the thing she’s staring at is a little turtle. She looks very concentrated to that turtle. She touches the turtle with her finger, she flinch a bit when the turtle pulls in his head, but then she smiles.
That is the first time Jin sees the lady smiling like that. He’s dumbstruck by that smile because her smile is so beautiful. She 's indeed a beautiful lady and her smile makes her more beautiful. She looks so interested in that turtle. It even makes her smile, that turtle might be something precious to her, maybe a turtle is her favorite animal? It might be that, Jin thinks. Then a silly idea comes into his mind.
“Kame-chan?” Jin calls her. Surprisingly, the lady turns his attention to him. He’s stunned by her reaction, he doesn’t expect that she will react to that name. Then he tries again, to make sure if she will still be reacting to the nickname.
“Kame-chan?” Jin calls her again lowly. The lady blinks at him. “Kame-chan?” he calls again. This time she’s tilting her head a bit as if asking Jin why is he calling her. Jin eyes widened in amusement. No one knows this lady’s name and it seems to be impossible for him to find out her name anytime soon, seeing her reaction to his ‘kame-chan?’, he thinks that maybe he can call her with that nickname. Besides, it looks like she also very fond of a turtle.
“Alright. I will call you Kame-chan from now on. Until I find out your real name,” Jin says to the lady.
“Kame-chan, you can play with that turtle again if you want,” Jin smiles to her as he points to the turtle. She seems to understand what he’s saying, because after Jin says that, she turns his attention back to the turtle. She keeps poking the turtle head and smiles when the turtle pulls its head into its shell.
Seeing that makes Jin smiles widely. he doesn’t only take her out successfully from her room, but he also makes her smile today and gives her a nickname. He’s satisfied. He lays on his back, enjoying the nice scenery, while Kame’s playing with the turtle. Life’s starting to be very good to him.
He knows that he will get scolded by the nurse because it’s already too late and he hasn’t arrived at the hospital. He curses himself for his stupidity, he’s too engrossed on staring at a nice view of Kame playing with a turtle and smiling. He doesn’t regret even a bit of it though. Smiling Kame is not something to be regretted. Moreover, she’s now sleeping on his back. He has to piggy-back her because she looks so tired on their way back to the hospital from the beach. He doesn’t have a heart to let her walk, he remembers that it’s been awhile for her since the last time she walked far. She falls asleep on his back on their way back. She’s surely tired, Jin thinks.
When they arrive at the hospital, the nurse has been waiting for them in the front gate. The nurse looks so worried but when she sees Jin carrying Kame on his back, the nurse face looks relieved. Jin’s glad the nurse doesn’t scold him, instead she helps him to put Kame on her bed. After Kame has already been tucked safely in her bed, Jin stretches his sore muscles.
“Thank you very much Akanishi-san. I think you should go home and have a rest,” the nurse smiles at him.
“Ah it’s nothing. I also enjoy today,” he smiles back at the nurse. He spares a glance on Kame before he bows then leaves the room. He definitely will come again tomorrow to see Kame-chan. He thinks with a smile plastered on his face.
