Nightmare
Yeah, I know, it's been a while since I posted an odd nocturnal horror for your perusal, but this one is really a doozy.
The details are already a bit hazy, but here goes:
I'm horribly deformed. I am a human monster of sorts, and I live in an abandoned school or dorm- some industrialized looking building with big windows and a playground nearby. I've become this way through catastrophe or disease, my body is scarred and misshapen. At first I'm sort of unaware of how hideous I am, and I assume that my friends and family only visit so infrequently because I live in such an inconveniently out-of-the-way place. The whole building that I live in seems to be deserted, and one day I go exploring. I find myself in a room with reflective chrome on all of the surfaces, and see my grotesqueness in full. I am completely overwrought with horror and disgust and self pity, and go tearing through the building smashing my body into walls and down stairs and though windows until I come to rest on a landing in a glass stairwell, where I lie in a heap and sob for some time. After some time has passed, I notice someone knocking at the window. I look up to see a few men standing there, and the playground behind them. They ask me to roll over so that I'm facing the other way because I'm scaring the children. I oblige, and they leave me there. I resume weeping and wake up shortly thereafter.
