Empires played Under The Bright Lights and made my life. They just played through everything else, so not too much to say.

- "Those look like stalactites. Is it tites that are on the top?" *someone said yes* "...Are you a geologist?"
- After talking about geology and spelunking "I don't know what to do now. I just want to talk about this shit some more."
- "You know what song's awesome? *starts playing Your Love and making noises instead of singing and does this at least three times throughout the show*"
- Someone in the crowd asked for a Brand New Song, then said "Okay, cool" when there was no response; "I'm sorry, are you offended because I didn't respond to your request personally? Is that what the 'Okay, cool' was? I like Brand New. I'm friends with them. I play their songs sometime, but I play a lot of songs that I like by my friends and people that aren't my friends. If I feel like playing a Brand New song later tonight, I'll let you know, okay?"
- He stopped later in the set and asked what we wanted to talk about, and someone said corn and DeKalb and cornfields and stuff, and he goes "High fructose corn syrup?" and they were like WOO! and he was really confused and like "I just said high fructose corn syrup and you're screaming for that?"
We talked to everyone but Max after the show. Sean remembered me and said it was good to see us again. Ryan said he remembered me from before too. This band just makes my life. Tom told us they were gonna be back in DeKalb, Iowa City, Cedar Falls, and Ames in September, so we'll definitely be able to see them again soon.
