Such a fun show, as always. Joe and I got there around 5:15 and just walked around Orland Park while we waited. The venue was in an abandoned strip mall thing, so that made parking awesome. There was some Oriental food store there, and Joe wanted to go, so we went over and found that it was closed. We then proceeded to walk through the whole place and found that everything was closed, including the dentist that was creatively labeled "DENTIST" on a nice, big, light up sign on the front.
So eventually, Kelsey got there and we went inside. We went to merch first and talked to Jeremy a little bit and said this would be our third/fourth time seeing them. He asked when the last time we saw them was, and then we talked about the Korova and how crappy the venue was and how weird that show was. Bingham told us he hated When In Vegas, or whatever they were called, and we shittalked them for a little bit. We talked to him for quite a while, then looked at other merch, then went into the stage part. Under The Lights was already playing, and they looked super familiar - turns out they played with Between The Trees last time we saw them in Morris. Blah blah blah, they played. Then On The Front played blah blah blah, and onto Action Item. When they were setting up, Steve came out on stage and was talking to them, then kind of smiled at me and was like "...Alison Lindholm!" and I was just like "YES!" and it was cool.
Then PUNCHLINE! They are just so freaking cool. Chris told a nice story about going to Hardee's earlier in the day for five dollars, which is how much they were asking for for Just Say Yes. He also told us how Steve woke him up in the middle of the night by almost pushing him off the bed. Chris had to push back really hard to stay on the bed, then Steve turned and said "I see how it is" and said something about the South, none of which he remembers. Chris said he would get him back and Belan suggested saying something about the North. Steve said wikipedia is their website. Steve introduced a song I forgot by saying "This song is in E major" and then just played it and it was funny. In the middle of, I believe, Caller 10, Belan started singing Night Fever and did his whole awesome falsetto thing. At the end, Chris stopped and was like "We only have two more, but we have time for three..." Then they were all like "What do you want to play?" and they were trying to be quiet about it, then Chris goes "Let's just talk now, they're not paying attention."

Next was Farewell. There was a piece of pizza on the monitor and the guitarist was like "Can I get more pizza in the monitor?" and then it was thrown around and the lead singer eventually ate a little bit of it. The guy behind me decided to try and be the most obnoxious person at a show ever and was yelling stuff to the band constantly and pushing into me when no one else in the crowd was doing anything like that. Their bass player, at one point, pointed at me and mouthed some lyrics and stuff and it was cool. Not amazing, but they put on a fun show.
And finally, Between The Trees. They played a pretty straightforward set. They didn't talk too much; Ryan said it was because when he starts talking, then he'll just start rambling. Not too much to say about them other than I love them to death, Ryan's voice is ridiculous, and I really like Josh's drumming.

Then we went over to merch and see who we could find. We talked to Belan first and he remembered our names and everything and it made me feel special because that kid's amazing. We didn't talk to him for too long, so there's not much else to say. Jordan was right over there, too, so we talked to him next. I don't remember anything I said to him. Then we saw Chris so we talked to him and he remembered us and we talked about his Prince shirt, which is his favorite. Then we went over to Jeremy and talked to him again, then stopped Josh when he was walking by, then talked to Ryan. Ryan remembered us and said their set was so short because they were all sick, which super sucks. Then Steve walked past and I stopped him and we talked to him for a pretty decent amount of time. He asked how we've been and what we've been up to and what not. We talked about Thirty Seven and how awesome they are. He asked if we were coming to the Iowa show, and I said I don't know. He asked what I don't know, then said if it as about money, they could take care of that and I just thought that was ridiculously nice. And obviously, I will be going to that show now.
