New Cultural Centre

As the title suggests, I was taken to investigate Brisbane's sparkling new cultural centre (the State Library and the Museum of Modern Art in a single building).

Ooh, sounds spiffy. =P I'll have to go and take a look sometime. (so far I've just bussed past several times)

I re-read Northern Lights recently. I'll have to borrow the Subtle Knife out from the library. I can't remember much of it, except that there's a knife. @_@ That cuts through worlds.

Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell! Clearly the best book of all time. n_n And it's really long too. I hate short books. They just...finish. And Jonathan Strange is awesome. =D *fangirl*

Mmm, spiffy.

The knife is all that I know about the book too. That and something about Lyra and Pan. =P

So far, it's great. It starts with the 'modern' idiom of denoting that it's a novel, and keeps the eighteenth-century style of writing very neatly. Plus its footnotes are awesome. (Long books just finish too, but at least they don't do so as fast.)

I think there's some guy called Will too...=P

I love the footnotes. n_n There's one really long one that takes up several pages. And I love all the history behind her world. The evil fairy scared me though. @_@

I haven't read it... :fear: ...but I do remember reading something about Will over Valery's shoulder in English. =P

According to legends about Faerie, most [if not all] fairies are evil. (I might not have come across that fairy yet anyway =P)
