Crew is one of the more physically demanding sports. You need to condition your back, abs, and legs, as well as increase your speed. Usually you start off with running for a couple of miles/exercising, then you get in the water and start working as a team. If you can't hold your own in the water, then you are royally screwed, because:
-If you're out of sync with everyone around you, chances are that in the middle of a race you'll catch a crab, which basically means your 13 foot oar is submerged underwater and you wan't get it out. If you don't duck quick enough, it will smack you in the face/ ribs and do some serious damage depending on the speed.
-There is no hiding. If you can't keep up, then everyone on your boat will know.. it's really about proving to everyone else how strong you really are.
Good luck, Andy, crew is a very, very demanding sport. I suggest taking some prep courses over the summer... or else you wont know anything about... anything when Crew season gets in full swing.
So you want a challenge eh?bandandyApril 13 2005, 21:51:50 UTC
Hey, I was legitimately curious as to what the name of that song was. Thank you though.
As it seems you are itching for a challenge, I shall provide one for you. Name the source of the music that plays over the Seabiscuit trailer. You need to play it through iTunes.

I love Grey's Anatomy. By the way, this is Anthony Fatta, are you majoring in Political Science? And wanna be my roomie? You can IM me at Agent Cyclops
Well, here's the deal about that. Because I'm going to college so close to home, I developed some rules to make the college experience more...independent I guess is the best way of putting it. One of those rules is to get a completely random stranger as my room mate. I wonder what poor sap will end up with me?
