I have no idea why they do this crap. It's so unnecessary. It would be easier if I could see exactly *why* it gives them any advantage, but I frankly don't see that. It's just motherfuckery. I don't get it.

Change for the sake of change. It's the Google Way(tm).

PS: and more AJAX please!

I hate the new layout. And the changes to the pick a user pic option. I can't even imagine what it will look like for people that have hundreds (*cough*panookah*cough*)

They knew about the anger over the subject lines even before they went ahead and made the change. The attitude was basically, well, some people don't use subject lines so therefore they are not needed. Can't argue with that stellar logic.

Also, heard there was some weird new thing about expanding a thread. haven't tested it out yet.

It takes a lot longer. And it takes much longer to choose a userpic.

Does this only apply to S1 users? I think I moved to S2 awhile ago because I wanted to use tags (not that I'm actually, you know, using them) and I'm not seeing anything different.

I guess I must have somehow gotten used to how the threads look in S2. I really hated that, and I still have trouble sometimes seeing which comments are connected to previous comments.

I have no idea what S2 users see. I guess I'll have to spend a week and figure out how to work with S2 ;/

Still, there is so much to hate besides lack of subject lines. Userpics, for example. In the previous version, I had a dropdown list to choose from. Quick and easy. Now, I have to wait for an idiotic series of preview pics to load very slowly in an order unrelated to how I use them. It sucks and is a stupid use of bandwidth.

I had to reply to this to see what you're talking about.

I didn't know people were so attached to subject lines within comments. I always thought the subject was what they were commenting on to begin with. :o)
