Second Life

I have a character there and I don't know quite what to do with it. My avatar is hopeless in terms of clothing and looks. It seems like there should be some interesting things to do besides building stuff -- I'm not really interested in that right now, especially since I can't even get my avatar to look right. Glargh ( Read more... )

Hey hey! I'm hosting Vamp Night at Le Cimetiere tonight! Stop by between 7 and 10 Second Life Time. We can talk about it and give you landmarks to interesting places, and places to get free or cheap clothes and goodies... maybe where to look for jobs like mine. I host once a week for three hours for 300 Linden dollars. I get 200 more for putting our club's weekly events into the listings. Our other hosts do two nights a week. And there are DJ's. I think they make a little more.

My av's name is Vady Nephilim.

I just do that one night a week, and also go dance and chat with friends while Emi DJ's on Fridays. I just dabble. I haven't even built anything. I mostly come to the theme parties at the club and go shopping or exploring. It's fun and doesn't eat my life. It's dress up and doll houses for grown ups, as well as it's educational uses etc. =)

I have been off the computer so much that I'm just getting around to seeing LJ comments. I did get and accept your request. I missed hosting yesterday because I had a migraine. Hope to catch you in-world soon. =)

I used to like hanging out in one of the pubs in Dublin, just listening to the music and chatting to random avatars. Sometimes they have live music. Maybe if you set it all up, which I cannot remember how to do, you could get SL gigs playing harp. I know someone who stopped doing as many real-life gigs cos his SL ones were so successful!

But, tbh, once I stopped paying for SL (silly to pay virtual land fees when you can barely afford real life rent!), it stopped being so much fun. I liked it far better when I had my space station way up above my plot of land right beside The Land of Doctor Who.

Buy stuff, make pretty clothes (easy once you get the hang), find the cool architectural places, meet up with friends, find places to hang out that match your interests - I can't run it right now, my graphics card keeps giving me errors but I found arty places and music places, there's a woodland area with pagan-y types, I think the gay community has somewhere, there's a cool bar on Mars, a few night clubs, a fab sunken cathedral, fountains in the mountains. Much eye candy :)
