I finally decoded the message through the rift. It's coming from Alpha-Centauri, and basically... I think they're asking for showtunes? Bizarre.

Edit: I thought it felt like some sort of time-space dimensional crossover had just happened. This will be very interesting to observe.

If this is in the past, does this mean I get a few days off? ;)

It's obviously a time-space displacement, to put it simply. I don't know HOW it happened, though - I've been working on it all day, but these computers are woefully inadequate. Do you think I ought to contact Mr. Smith?
