I lost my job.
Basically. This is how it goes:
I started the job exactly a month ago today, and i loved it because it suited me to the ground. I got to wrok with awesome people, work with vintage clothing AND i got to organise things. All the elements i like in a job.. I worked full time to start with, including halloween which was super busy. Hand to heart i worked my ASS off there. I got really into the job and i loved helping people pick out things to wear and ideas for costumes. I was ALWAYS on time and i did what i was told. The customers were always really grateful and i felt proud that i knew what i was doing and that i did a good job at it too..
I cant even type the reasons as to why he would have fired me, because i know why he did it and nothing he said had any relevance to it. The point is, he is a very bitter guy, who hasnt much patience for anything but himself. This is a boss who randomly yells at customers with no justification, other then he's in a bad mood, he's gay but really in-ur-face-flamboyant about it and flirts with all the guys who come in. He calls me up on my day off [which i cherished, seeing as i was workin full time during a really busy holiday-halloween] and he asks me to come in. Infact, he demands. I tell him i had made plans already and i cant just cancel them but that i'll try to come in later if i can make some kind of arrangement. He gets mad and tells me i NEED to come in. I tell him i cant just cancel and im sorry but its my one day off and i happened to have made arrangements to go out. He tells me that what i said is not good enough. I said i dont know what to say and he gets more mad and hangs up. Not very professional to say the least..
Anyways, my friend at work gets yelled at infront of customers by my other boss, chen, and gets fed up with work and quits. I hate this cuz i love that girl. So i work all week and i check the shedule. Im working less at this point cuz halloween is over so i have 2 to 3 days off a week now, and my shedule says sat-mon off. I check this throughout the week and then on thurs i go in with jess to work and check yet again. Still the same. Friday comes and after sean asks me to go to san fran till sun/mon i plan this trip to go after work and come home sun/mon in time for work on tues. Friday, after work, i am almost out the door and my boss, jon rings me saying he heard i was going to san fran and states that i cant cuz i have to work sat and sun and i tell him i checked the shedule and im off till tues. He then starts to threaten my position in the job, saying if i dont come in i could lose my job. I get a bit mad and tell him he cant change the shedule a day before my days off and how he cant expect me to sit about all day not making plans incase he changes the shedule. I also tell him i was working with him all day fri and he could atleast have had the decency to tell me he was changing the shedule. He claims im wrong and carries on threatening me. I tell him i made plans on MY days off and its only fair i keep them.
I go to san fran.
So its tues today and i got into work this morn and altho i had 20 mins before i started work, i helped out a customer with a costume. Jon interupts me and brings me in his office, lays down a termination slip and fires me. I look at him in disgust and question him. He starts getting fustrated with my stubbourness and opens the paper and hands me a pen and just shouts, 'just sign it'. I pick the paper up and throw it back to him and i said, 'im not signing anything until u tell me why u think u can just fire me like that'. Anyways, it got heated and i tell him what i have thought about the way he has handled situations at work and how he has treated me unfairly. He claims when chen made my friend cry, that we ganged up on her. well, for one, chen was abrupt with me all day AND when i handed her some clothes she ASKED me to go give her she grabs them and tells me to 'go away'. I know she was dealing with my friend crying but she had no right to snap at me when i didnt even say a word, let alone telling jon that i ganged up on her with my friend!? So thats freakin' bullshit set in stone. Jon carries on telling me i havent been doing any work and that i have a bad attitude during the time im there. Anyone whos worked with me and/or has come in to visit me knows i work hard and am always smiling away. Im always asking hon or chen if they need me to help them when its not so busy, i also fixed clothes that need to be fixed etc. I have no idea where he got his bullshit excuses from.
He says that he employed me on the grounds of 'avaliable and flexible' and that im neither. Well, for starters, this is what fucks me off.
He makes a shedule for 2 weeks in advance. say for example, mon 10-30 to 8 and tues 9-7 etc etc. So i go in on time and whenever he feels like sending me home he does. No warning, nothing. It cud even be 3:26 and he comes up to me and goes, 'im signing u out, go home' and i dont drive, and he knows this and i have to just hope my mom or dads home to get me.. I dealt with that no questions asked.
Also.
I have had a maximum of 4, 20 mins breaks out of atleast 20 working days. Im supposed to get 30 mins and an additional 10 min after every 4 hours, for example if i work 6 hours i get 30 mins and a 10 min or 8 hours its 30 mins and 20 mins.. I never got my freakin' breaks.
..So im not flexible? I went in everytime i was sheduled and was on time and could stay as long as they needed me. On my days off i needed the breaks cuz its a tiring job, and id make plans to hang out with some friends or visit LA or whatever.. He says i wasnt flexible enough becuase of the whole 2 times hes rung asking me to come in, i havent been able to. This pisses me off cuz had i gone in, id have worked 10 days straight with 1 bloody day off! I argue with him that its only fair im allowed to have my days off and if i cant come in, then he cant use it against me. At the end of the day, I even offered to come in a bit later!
So hell with it. Me and my friend are better off out the job. The managers are clueless. They didnt have respect for us. My other friends going to quit soon, and as for the other 2 workers, ones shy and just gets on with it, the other guys new..
I told jon i was going to quit and so i wrote it on the termination slip and my dads irrate too, and wants to go in and have a word.
I'll unleash him on jon any day. My dads badass and jons just a fuckin' pussy.

ps: If anyone needs me to work for the, just let me know, ha. I design clothes, labels, albums, flyers etc, and i can make clothes etc. I also do photography and im a singer. Give me some projects people! :)
